this pathetic change in sports that will ruin the game
You mean allowing US citizens to openly participate in the free market economy by having an opportunity to profit off of their own name and image? As opposed to continuing to do it under the table tax free like they have since the early 1900s?
Y’all are romantic about some weird stuff; amateurism hasn’t been a thing since they started giving out scholarships and lowering admission standards for athletic ability back in 1905, why should this suddenly be an affront to a notion that hasn’t been in practice for over 100 years? If it means that much, take up fandom of an Ivy League or DIII team which are the only examples of actual school sponsored amateur Athletics left.
If you really wanna be pissed about something, rattle your saber at the inevitable playoff expansion and further conference realignment that are killing the regular season significance and regionalism of the sport. Those issues will actually be the death of college football (not NIL and the transfer portal, different as they may make the landscape look until we acclimate to it). Your protests won’t matter to or be heard by the folks running the whole show (Emmert, the P5 Commisioners, and Disney) but it’ll at least be for an actual good reason.

I can't wait for UGA to steal this and put their own, slight twist on it
Well Bama wasn’t close to the first to offer a plan like this so yeah, UGA will have one too. And so will every other school in the country. It’ll be tablestakes in no time.
Like a water slide or a juice bar or Xbox lounges.

No surprise Bama fans want it

Maybe you'll close that 30 game GAP one day

Naw I’m going back in time to fix that massive advantage y’all had back in the days when my grandparents were young

Does that explain why you guys went 0-3 against Bama this past season? I'll hang up and listen.

Arkansas did this like 2 months ago. The even hired an new assistant AD who does nothing but help athletes with NIL. Try to keep up Gumps.

I wasn’t the one bragging about making an elite eight 15+ years ago
Posted on 5/4/21 at 8:24 pm to Sun God
Oh boy. You're gonna get it now. That was actually just an answer to a question and not a brag.

I wasn't either.

Definitely wasn't bragging. Some dumbass asked if a Sweet 16 was our greatest achievement. Well technically, no, Bama made the Elite 8 in 2004. It was a factual answer.

UGA copies the entire plan word for word in 3...2...1...

I always thought Bama players were not very good at maximizing their brand when they got to the next level. They could do better. Derrick Henry should be all over TV for example. JULIO Jones’ brand could have been better as well.
I agree.
