He linked me to the picture that is floating around. It's a small pic but you can tell it's not really a new design.
I wouldn't place too much faith in that pic at all. It's got Texas, Oklahoma USC and Penn State in it. None of those teams have Pro Combat unis for this coming season (at least none that have been announced). And look at the unis in the pic for Ohio State, Alabama, Virginia Tech and Florida...that's what they're wearing now. I think this was just someone playing around with a template.

I agree hunter. My buddy said that we definitely wore the pro combat jerseys in the NCG but couldn't remember if we wore the pants or not.

Yeah I can understand that also. I said my buddy could be wrong but we will know for sure soon. Until then I guess it's all pretty much speculation.
I don't usually fall victim to the a friend of a friend told me this scenario but I emailed him asking about it earlier and this is the info that he gave me that he has been hearing in the athletic offices so it seemed somewhat worth posting. If I'm wrong then oh well.

His response was this
"it's kind of misleading. The release says pro combat jerseys BUT is should read pro combat material. I asked someone about it today in the athletic office and this is what I was told. There is a picture floating around. If I find it I'll link it."
"We wore the pro combat jerseys in Pasadena last season I know. I can't remember if we wore the pants in the game but I know we wore the tops."

Our uniforms are perfect. Personally I'm not interested in ANY changes.

I think I'm really pissed and opposed to this. That is unless the payout from Nike will allow us to do what LSU/Auburn fans whine about and pay off officials.

For the sake of you guys, I hope they look better than the ones we had last year for the Arkansas game. I don't really like it when tradition (of the past 40-50 years) is messed with.
I'm sure at least some of you remember when Ray Perkins took over for Bear at Bama. In his first season (1983), they decided to use these hideous uniforms that included white headgear with crimson lettering. When Bama would wear this with their home jerseys, it appeared that the home jerseys were more "red" than crimson. IIRC, they used these helmets for road games AGAIN in 1984. Mercifully, they went back to crimson headgear the following year for all games. It just didn't look like Alabama to me.
Yeah, we're still "enemies" when we play- but a storied program such as Alabama shouldn't mess with tradition, IMHO.

No grey stripes, borders, or trim. Leave that for the jerseys from Walmart and truck stops.

:UPDATE:
My buddy in the athletic department just emailed me about the Pro Combat unis he says:
"Now we are hearing it actually MAY be a new design. Originally they were supposed to wear the unis from the Rose Bowl, but that may change now. I will let you know more when I do."

I have a feeling it was going to be a new design of a past uni to begin with.
