Kinda silly form of 'punishment' IMO. With that said, I don't think Alabama deserves anything the slightest bit 'severe' over this incident. Honestly, I think if they hadn't been on the clock so to speak,it would have amounted to this.
The good news for them is that no scholarships will be lost. Supposedly 'other sports' are going to be hit harder when the PC is announced.

I guess Auburn can start printing 1 finger T-shirts now.
For Bama fans, keeping schollies for the future is the important thing. None of those teams they beat in 08 is going to magically be "un-whupped".

The '08 season is unaffected. Only goes up to '07.

Edit to change the year to 07 then.
I guess Auburn's already got those T-shirts.
Still, do any of the teams you beat that season
magically get "un-whupped"?

Kind of silly in my opinion as well...why even bother saying a team has to go back and forfeit? it was a 7-6 season...who cares...the games have been played...and won...NCAA is retarded

It's kinda akin to when they say, "The jury will disregard the defendants last statement." Too late for all that.

Are you retarded or does this point actually make sense in your head?
How is a reference to an Auburn "fear the (insert integer here)" T-shirt retarded? Have you not seen them? Lighten up, Francis.

What does Auburn have to do with you forfeiting wins in '07? AU won the game...it doesn't matter what shirts they printed up. Your original post was supposed to be a dig at AU, and it failed miserably...even your second attempt.

I think Alabama will "vacate" wins, not forfeit them. I am told there is a difference. Teams losing to Alabama will still have to count the vacated win as a loss.
For Alabama a vacated win is treated as if no game was played at all. It's not a loss but it's not a win either.
I know that Alabama does not count forfeited games as victories. For example, FSU had to forfeit the game it won against Bama. (that's on appeal) But Alabama will not count that game as a win. Only a loser school would do that.

I don't see why it really matters either way if they're vacated or forfeited. You all sucked during those years...it's not as though you're losing an SEC Championship or something. That's like if something comes out in a few years that AU was doing something wrong in '08. They want to vacate/forfeit our wins? fricking do it...who gives a shite?

I think that is a very good analogy.

The ruling, which will be announced to the public Thursday, also includes the NCAA placing Alabama on three more years of probation, and Alabama will pay a fine.
So are they having to give up bowl eligibility during those three years?

quote:WHAT?! don't you dare say that USC cheats. the ncaa is totally justified for protecting the innocent, pure, righteous, holy, blameless, above suspicion, chaste, honest, honorable, wholesome, virtuous TROJANS
NCAA is retarded
bama broke the rules and they deserve a slap on the wrist. usc blatantly laughs at the ncaa's "rules" and nothing happens. that's fair

Oh, damn. ULM is still in that loss column.

Just as a matter of curiosity, will the umpteenth reoccurrance of cheating citations to Alabama, cause their fans to use the words "class" in conjuction with their athletic program any less? I think not, but I would like a straw poll...
