How long was Pearl a Division I coach before Tennessee hired him? Not that long. This guy has been a head coach for close to twenty years.
I still don't think he comes. After actually seeing his record, I just think it is amusing that Bama's plan A to reach elite status in basketball is to give a guy with the record I mentioned above basically anything he wants

You know, with all the thousands of posts about how we buy anyone and everyone from players to referees to conference officials, it is certainly disappointing that y'all have lost faith in us when it comes to buying a coach.

Now suddenly the message pivots to "It's amusing that you're offering so much money to him".
Those crazy, basketball obsessed Bammers...

If they can beat ND and advance I do not think he will come.
I wonder what Wichita is going to do to counter alabama's offer. I'd imagine if bama is going to dish 3.5 out they'll offer him in the 3 range.
Edit: I'd imagine he'd rather be at Indiana.

With his obvious lack of credentials, he'd be pretty stupid not to wouldn't he?

So too would Pearl, probably. I'd imagine. But he's not. He's at AU.
What does the Indiana job - which is neither open currently, nor will it be in 2015 - have to do with anything in this discussion?

Pearl was a coach at SIU and UWM for 15 seasons, you dumbass.

I also have to laugh at Bammer starting to bring up Pearl's NCAA problems, yet they couldn't care less that their own football program had to forfeit 5 games in Saban's first year as their coach back in 2007 due to their own NCAA problems. Also couldn't care less that 99 percent of the bammers own fan base accused Tosh Lopoi of being a cheater a few years ago and now he is currently employed as the Bama linebackers coach

It's called waiting out for a better job. Numerous coaches have done it.
In Pearl's situation he was just ready to get back into coaching and Auburn was the team to offer him regardless of the penalties.

You mean the issues that began under Mike Shula and was self reported under Saban. And it was a vacation of games.

You're making more stuff up. Why do you continue to do this?

If he is after money than he will accept this job. I would never accept it because basketball is and will always be an after though in Bama land. I would sit and wait for another job where basketball is the main focus.

lol wut? He is one of the top coaches in college basketball. Probably top 5.

I would generally agree about Bama's priorities (basketball being an afterthought), but that is changing. On message boards and among Bama Fans I have talked to, you'd hardly have any clue that spring practice started. Everyone is talking about basketball. Do I expect it to be that way in August? No freakin way. I'm just saying, basketball isn't the lonely afterthought at Alabama that some people think. 2nd fiddle? No doubt about it.. But many many people care about its success.

Bama fans: This is OT, but do you guys like Coleman or do y'all want something done to it? I've seen bama fans go both ways with it and some buddies that go to Bama say they hate it. Your thoughts?
