I mean, Alabama's AD got out there and said court stormings should result in an L for the home team. So I assume the contracted security was told to prepare for it if the circumstance occurred because it would make the AD look like a dumbass.

Thats cute.

The LSU Athletic Department deals with bottom lines much differently than most fans who cheer for the Ole War Skule in a state with the nation’s second highest poverty rate.

There is no real budget for the LSU athletic ship. The department spends and spends and runs multi-million-dollar deficits expecting a rich uncle to bail it out. Without the contributions of the Tiger Athletic Foundation, a substantial haircut would be in store for an operation which hemorrhages red ink, producing a $34.8 million deficit at the close of the fiscal year on June 30.

Seems like a good thing to practice, but we don't storm the court so...

In the quasi game thread I said around the half that that that crowd was primed to storm the court. And Bama was primed to pull that minor upset last night so practicing for a court storming was just common sense.

Thankfully Bama won’t have to worry about that in football for a few years. By then, they’ll be used to mediocrity and storming the field when they beat Auburn with their new coach.

I know this is all a troll anyway, but c’mon… really? You called it in the game thread? There is a 0% chance any fans touched the floor if Bama won. With or without security. It wasn’t ever going to happen.

quote:

Alabama athletics director Greg Bryne has seen enough when it comes to college fans rushing the field or court after a victory. "Kids aren't going to be in the stands saying, 'Oh, I don't want to do this because the school is gonna get fined $200,000,'" Byrne said when advocating for teams to forfeit games if their fans storm the playing surface, per Matt Stahl of AL.com.

"That doesn't enter their mindset. But if they knew the game that they just had been a part of, celebrated a great win that led to that, if they knew that they were going to lose that game immediately, that would stop them."

quote:

Stahl noted the SEC fines schools $100,000 for a first offense, $250,000 for a second offense and $500,000 for subsequent offenses with the money going to the visiting school that just lost. Bryne is no stranger to seeing the Crimson Tide on the other end of a field storm, as Stahl pointed out schools have been fined seven times each for storming the field or court against Alabama football and Kentucky basketball since the fine system was put in place in 2004.

No other SEC team has been on the opposite end of more outcomes, and Alabama has never been fined for such a violation.

Alabama has never been fined for storming a court/field. It doesn’t happen. Byrne was trying to prove a point, not prevent an incident. He’s been on a war path against fans leaving the stands since WF/Duke last week.

So, you either already knew that and you’re still trolling or it’s much worse and you’re making yourself look even dumber.

Same ole horseshite from this site - different day

We all know Bama doesn't storm courts or fields. That is obviously for rival fanbases - and they are protecting the teams in this instance.

I'm actually glad they practice that - I hope other teams do as well.

I disagree. He would have looked far dumber to people that matter if he was unable to stop his own fanbase after smugly arguing for home team forfeits a week prior.

This is just something for haters to yuck it up about and has no impact on anything Greg Byrne cares about in athletics politicking.

mean, we could have practiced turning the water hoses on the fans. I hear some schools do that.

It worked

Hey pal, we already know you're a retard. You don't have to keep trying to prove it.

If it worked, why were all those dumb fricks on the field after the Kick Six?

"It worked."

If we ever storm the court against anyone I would be embarrassed.

Why do Alabama fans pretend they've never stormed the field?

The Last Time Every Team Stormed the Field - Saturday Down South

quote:

Alabama has never rushed the field and, barring some ridiculous period of irrelevance, probably never will. Because Alabama is often the butt of field storming, it’s easy to see why fans would view their team as above it.

They are the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Florida Gators.
