Fairhope
Mountain Brook
Huntsville/Madison
Vestavia Hills

All of those are outstanding places to raise a family or live and I am sincerely thankful to that magazine for continuing to convince people from the east and west coast not to move there.

First time I went to the beach in Santa Cruz, people told me to bring a jacket.

I was like what?

Then the night came and the ocean breeze started hitting, and it was like standing in front of an AC vent. Felt good in the day, freeze your balls off at night.

If it’s the 46th worst state that means it’s the 5th best state in America you puke orange dick cheese.

I'll take the Alabama coast over anything in that vast wasteland of trees and banjo picking goat frickers in Tenursee.

Also, who the frick actually vacations in Tennessee? Mountains are for people who change oil for a living...

But on a serious note, the Alabama state legislature was controlled by democrats for well over 130 years up until 2011 so naturally it takes time to rebuild from a century of liberal control.

Ironic seeing as how Georgia is literally Mississippi with a major city.

Credit all the northern migrants and Asians living in the Atlanta suburbs for keeping Georgia afloat.

Well, you'll be shocked to know Alabama was controlled by democrats for over a century. Republicans gained control of the state legislature for the first time in 2011.

So yeah, it's "trash" thanks to 130+ years of liberal control...

Alabama ranked the 46th worst state in the country by U.S. News

Much like Tennessee, Alabama is comprised of three areas:

AL - North, Central, and Gulf Coast
TN - West, Middle, East

In both cases there are two regions that are excellent places to live, and I would never consider living in the third.

When it comes to these rankings, look at criteria. They end to value arts and entertainment more so than cost of living and taxes, and so forth... but those would definitely be reversed for me. I tend to think their methodology is incredibly screwed up in relation to "normal people".

Personally, draw a line starting at I-65 on the AL/TN border. Go due east until a few miles before you hit Charlotte. I want to live less than 50-75 miles from that line. And I do. Honestly, North Alabama is one of the best kept secrets in the nation when considering a great place to live. And frankly, I'm just fine with that.

Yet all the gump fans point to Atlanta for their argument for why they think Georgia sucks.

Gump fans are as confused as they are insecure
