It costs lots of money to get ranked that low. We couldn’t afford #50. The lower the ranking the more it keeps those fleeing California from moving to the state. Outside of putting a fence around California and barring flights from there, a low ranking is the best way to fend those liberal democrats off.

Thanks, we have more people here than we want now. Spread the word and discourage as many from coming as possible.

I know you’re a gump and probably not well edumacated but they’re talking about the state in the Pacific Northwest where Seattle is located, not DC.

I can live anywhere I want. And I currently live in "The 10th best state".

I've lived all across the country and these things are always stupid and based on the wrong things.

Would I ever choose to live in Washington? frick NO.

The #1 factor behind all the rankings is generally the same. How much is the GDP of the state, and how much of that is taxed by the government and put into public facilities.

Healthcare - how many people do you give free healthcare to? Well, I don't use free healthcare, so why the frick is that something that makes a state great? Because that is what is considered good by the media. Unless you are shopping for welfare systems, that doesn't make a state better.

The amount of obese people makes a state better or not? Really? Because 20% obese people is that much better than 35%? Is it contagious? How the frick does that matter?

They equate overall GDP to opportunity as well. So the more money in a state, the more "opportunity". And at it equates racial equity as equality, which is just way dumb. If you really want to look at what provides opportunity, then look at the road blocks to small businesses. That's where you'll find out who has opportunity.

And most of the time GDP is eaten up by the cost of living anyway. When I lived in San Jose, my house is worth 1.4 million. And it's not because it's some great luxurious house, in most parts of the country it's a $250k-$300k house maybe $400k lately. Not to mention the outrageous taxes, overall increase in everything you buy, etc. Yet California is ranked #21?

These lists are shite.

Alabama is shite. Deal with it. I would much rather live in Washington than the shite hole that is Alabama.

I don’t know, I’ve actually gone on vacation in Bama which is just the beach but I’ve never been like let’s go to Tennessee for a week. I guess Nashville is nice though
