He's a former Top 100 recruit from the class of 2019.

Have you shifted your focus to the class of 2022 and beyond? Well, Alabama head coach Nick Saban and staff haven’t. On Monday, the Crimson Tide added Ohio State wide receiver transfer Jameson Williams, a former Top100 recruit in the class of 2019 from St. Louis, as he committed to UA on his social media account. Williams joins a loaded wide receiver haul for UA this cycle, including five-star Jacorey Brooks, A-Day standout Agiye Hall, Florida product Christian Leary, and Texas star JoJo Earle.
“It’s Bama because I felt the want and need of my skill from Coach (Nick Saban) as he explained everything to me,” Williams told BamaOnLine. “And I also had a great relationship with Coach (Holmon) Wiggins from the previous years. He made it most definitely feel like a place that I could be.”

So he left OSU due to lack of PT, and committed to Bama? I mean, its a smart move, but doesn't add up to why he left osu.

OSU has a crazy stacked WR room.

Yea but when has an Ohio State transfer with little production ever done anything noteworthy in the SEC?

Trust the Process.
But who really knows for sure? It could turn out that Williams is Duron Carter 2.0. It could also turn out that he becomes a key cog in our offense this coming season.

Kids don't have to make add up in today's world. I see it did catch a 45 yard TD vs the Fighting Dabo's in this years playoff game.

Yes they do, but Bama does alright with receivers. If his reason was actually what its said to be, im not sure Bama is the best spot for him..

Not sure it was lack of playing time as we was a starter. He just didnt produce that much. Its low risk high reward for Bama and a fresh start for the player

Wish the kid well. I've heard Bama's room isn't "established" going into this season. Williams was not going to get a ton of balls his way at OSU this fall honestly with Olave/Wilson taking a lion share and then Jaxon Njigba/Fleming being 2nd year guys with tons of talent and reps and Egbuka/Harrison JR true freshmen with a lot of upside.
He had some drops at OSU, but he is a speedster who can stretch the field for sure

Think he moved down the chart a bit this season. Garrett Wilson is moving back outside and Njigba is moving to the slot. That moved Williams out of the starting lineup. He would certainly have played a good # of snaps as OSU likes to rotate 6+ but he would not be a starter if everyone is healthy this season

And listening to Saban's comments from this past spring, that's what he wants the most out of his WRs.

Yep, lot of young players and while talented we don't have a straight line burner really, which is a big piece of our offense.
I'm guessing we saw him as a specific plug into that role.

Makes sense.
Alabama has had more first round picks from the WR position in the past two years than any other school. Hell, they have as many as the next two schools in numbers combined.
Alabama - 4
LSU, Arizona State, Oklahoma - 2 each
If you wanted to go high in the draft as a WR, go to Bama.

The NCAA has been spayed and neutered by the P5 commissioners. They're merely signing off on what the big dogs want to see in college football. The new transfer rules along with the forthcoming NIL decision will simply make the rich richer. Smaller schools won't be able to compete. It's only a matter of time before the P5 tells the G5 and NCAA goodbye.

There is zero reason to cater to student athletes. They do need to pull their head out of their arse and stop mixing in w colleges. But they know this is the cash cow. P5 would just be another league dying off due to fatigue or like said, killing off smaller div. I'm not for either. It's a shame amateurism is dead. Just play sports and be students.
