That aside, I don't think Alabama had 4 national title winning coaches before Bryant. I think it was only Wade and Thomas, though they did win 4 titles between the two of them. 1925,26,30,34.
edit to say no, I don't count 1941

You're wrong. But so am I. They had 3 natty winners before Bryant and 6 statues outside BD for all the title winners. I don't count '41 either but I don't count titles anyway, just the amazing number of great coaches we have been blessed with but the program makes coaches too. Hell DuBose won the SEC by beating Spurrier twice in one season, Curry came within a couple points or so playing for a natty and even Shula won 10 when we were on horrible probation. Hell of a run.

Had lunch with my old boss who is in his 80's and he told me they needed to send guys like he and I to fight since we have nothing to lose and would enjoy door gun duty. Plus we are now liabilities and young guys have all their lives in front of them.

Got a disc with Lightning's Mojo Hand, Short Haired Woman and others at Jimmy Rodgers museum in Meridian two weeks ago. Lordy, that brings back old days. Picked up one of the old singing brakeman too. Blue Yodel number 7 I believe and others..

Which is fairly normal I'd guess Socrates. Or would Plato fit better. But yeah I take myself pretty seriously so advice from a guy like you who speaks for everyone is certainly a plus. Lucky for Bama and Saban the banks (committee) allows them to miss a payment or two (mulligans),or it it would be a different narrative.
