Huh? What are you trying to say?

- Hocke was Richt's strength coach
- Hocke was straight from the cheerleader (Cochran)
- Hocke knew the "Moffit System"
- Kirby could have kept Hocke for peanuts compared to Cochran if all he wanted was the system, which is what you seem to think

Thankfully all of that worked out. I think UGA is more than happy with Sinclair.

The players respond to Cochran and his cheerleading style, that's obvious. I'm just saying that none of his programs are his. More power to him though, he's done amazing for himself especially considering that he doesn't have to do what every other head strength coach in the nation does

Because he was under Tommy Moffitt and still has a bunch of his programs. I have a strength manual from Bama from 2014, there are pictures in the book of people demonstrating certain Olympic movements. The guy in the picture has on LSU shorts lol

Like with most sports, it’s common for disciples of certain coaching disciplines to take large amounts of their mentors philosophy with them. I was a coach under Vic at FSU (also a Moffitt guy) and we stressed Olympic lifts a lot too until we started figuring out split method is a little more beneficial for getting faster increases in power output by decreasing the time to teach a fairly inefficient skill with not as much sport specific transfer as most coaches like to preach

In the strength and conditioning world however, Cochran is recognized as one of the best by just about all of his peers. And not just because of the physical results but also the mental ones his athletes demonstrate as well. Year in and year our Bama has among the best physical specimens in the game, and they’re among the most mentally tough as well. So the “cheerleading” part is actually quite important too. To say otherwise is basically just being a ridiculous hater

Also heard stories about how Saban emails work outs down to Cochran in the morning to do. Do you know if there is any truth to that?

I don’t know about that. I doubt he’s doing that regularly if he does. Yes Cochrane is a cheerleader...but he runs a solid program because he runs the Moffit/Hatch program. Hes also hired some competent coaches in the past that have helped keep the program up to date.

Cochran is a fantastic recruiter and day to day floor manager of the program. Strength coaches with great minds and fantastic programs often lack personality. Mizzou, Iowa, Minnesota were pioneers in strength and conditioning...but they don’t win. In the end, the most talented strength coach is the one that helps you win...and that is one that is an asset in recruiting and delivering day to day enthusiasm to the program. There are a select few that are great coaches and have personality...one is now at Tennessee

Hate to hear this...sucks when injuries like this happen. Especially not in season.

There is a difference in being happy a team takes a hit and being happy of the reason. Most people here aren't happy or wish players get hurt no matter how much they hate a team.

Exactly. Nobody should ever be glad that a college athlete gets injured. Now excuse me I have to go wash myself after I upvoted a Rabern57 post.
