When you lost to Vandy, that was a massive sh*t seed. Don't be surprised, then, that it turned into a massive sh*t weed.

ND lost to Northern IL and is hosting.

Ohio State lost at home to 7-5 Michigan and is also hosting.

Exactly because they're not going with the top 12 teams. Bottom line. You're making our same point.

Yes they are. Just my opinion though.

At least you’ll admit it.

Most people complaining have no problem with the divisional format of leagues in the pros. They loved the SEC title and East/West, but they DON’T like it when it comes to playoff selection.

You were just fine with it when you thought Alabama was going to get in

Ask a 9-7 NFL team what it’s like to miss the playoffs because the Seahawks won the NFC West at 9-7.

Every system is flawed to a degree, but none of them have the human element deciding who goes and who doesn’t. Also did the team that the Seahawks beat out to win the NFC West also get a playoff bid, because that’s what just happened in the ACC. Committee decided SMU was still 6 spots better than the team that they just lost to.

I’m making no such point. You have 3 losses and didn’t sniff your conference championship. You weren’t getting in.

Damn. No. Big 4 conf champs in. You have to try to be so ignorant dude.

SMU after the loss shouldn’t be in but the conf champ of a big 4 should.

You can’t be this dumb.

But they didn’t make the top 12 playoff teams. Number 16 Clemson did make the top 12 though.
It’s like Alabama fans just assumed they would be in “cuz Bama”, didn’t bother to follow any rankings prior to today, and have no idea how the bracket works nor why they’re sitting at home.

Those 2 sentences alone should tell anyone with a functioning brain, that this current system doesn’t make any sense.
So, you knew before the season that all four Power 4 conference champions received an auto bid as well as the highest ranked G5 conference champ.

According to this functioning brain, that is 5 slots already allotted for the playoffs.

Again, this functioning brain then concludes that there are then 7 slots remaining to be filled. The committee was then supposed to award those 7 slots to the SEVEN highest ranked non conference champs.

The top EIGHT ranked non conference champions are:

1. #3 Texas
2. #4 Penn St
3. #5 Notre Dame
4. #6 Ohio St
5. #7 Tennessee
6. #8 Indiana
7. #10 SMU

8. #11 uat

I would think any functioning brain knows exactly why the gumps missed the playoffs.

Therefore, one must conclude you do not have a functioning brain.

I don't expect you to understand.

No, the Rams were also 7-9 I believe.

Uh no. SMU doesn’t have a shitty record. Your argument would make sense if two 8-4 teams got in the playoff.

And that’s also retarded

I have no idea what you’re trying to say. If you’re saying get rid of automatic bids for the “big 4” champions, then I agree. Because there is no big 4. There’s 2 power conferences and 2 subpar conferences. Not equal playing fields. ACC and Big 12 are now trash. ACC champions were run off the field by SEC. Champs by 31. They also lost to SECs 6th best team. Who did Arizona St beat to deserve a bye? They basically have the same resume as Army

Alabama lost to Vanderbilt AND Tennessee AND got blown out by Oklahoma. Notre Dame lost to Northern Illinois AND no one else. This isn’t hard.

Now you’re finally catching up to the point of this thread. Either we go to a system that removes human element, or we pick the best 12. This current system is dumb

I concur. But…how do you pick the best 12?

My main argument with Bama fans tonight is that there’s results to support Bama being one of the 12 best, and results to support them NOT being one of the 12 best.

Glad we can agree. You could’ve saved us both a lot of time if you’d had just agreed with my original point that this system is flawed

If Bama had played well enough to make the SECCG, they would now be in the Playoff. Too bad Bama wasn't good enough.
