Bama went like 10 years barely having a meaningful injury, some would say they were due.

You should be used to it by now.

all those years LSU lost 5-6-7 players early and bama was able to convince multiple first round picks to stay for Sr season tide nation didn't cut LSU any slack. Any time LSU fans would mention something about losing players early tide nation said man up and take the loss.

IMO, there are some players who are elite athletes but are not cut out for college. The XFL needs to sign them straight out of high school.

Alabama’s freshmen IMO were some of the highlights of their defense last year. Tough to be thrown into the fire like that.

.
Thank You.

Those guys had to step in and do a lot of shite, Saban/Golding had to slow down the defense so that those young guys could get ready to play at an SEC level.

Still made playoffs and won 2 NCs in stated time frame. Amazing.

Alabama had injuries last year but issues began before 2019. The 2018 defense had issues as well. Dylan Moses and Mack Wilson underwhelmed during the 2018 season. I have a good friend who started as a middle linebacker on a major college football program back in the 90s. He says the Alabama defense just does not seem to have the players with the same athleticism as years past. Especially with all of the linebackers. He says the d line does not have the same quality depth either. I tend to agree with him.

Just from the '13 draft to the '20 draft bama has had 32 players declare early. LSU has had 45. bama's most was for the '10 draft with seven. LSU in that time frame had a high of 11. One year it was nine and another was seven.

In fact LSU has lost more players in those eight years than what saban has in his entire time at the capstone.

Makes you wonder if the assistant coaching carousel over the past few years has affected talent identification and recruiting, or at least the type of players being brought in to fit the system. They clearly have a lot of stars, but maybe some weren't the best overall fit physically/mentally for what they're trying to run.

It's why recruiting is so overrated
Saban missing on five stars and LSU signing 2 star Justin Jefferson who no one wanted
Sometimes identifying the lesser talent is more important than the entitled 5 star that doesn't pan out

Doesn't make me wonder at all... it had to have an effect.

I'm actually excited about some of the coaches with our defense now, Golding not withstanding... I do believe our new defensive analyst makes Golding a marked man, too.

Saban's recruiting sucks. The stench of that 2019 defense lingers still.

Truth is, the smell may well be that fat, bloated whore that alabana has become since 44-16.

Saban's recruiting sucks.

I didn't know three words could make such an idiotic comment. Congratulations.

While the 2019 U of A defense wasn't statistically great, LSU gave up a shite ton of points as well. What matters most is last season's LSU offense was always able to bail them out.

Oddly enough, it was ranked 3rd in the SP+ for defenses.

This was down a little from the #1 rank for most of the past 5 years. But surprisingly high considering the mistakes that were made at times.

But they did shut out LSU for the majority of the 2nd half, so I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. Then LSU scored on their last 2 possessions, which kind of removed any happy about it.

It's not like they were LSU bad or anything.
