For those interested. Alabama had a elephant mascot in 1958. It was on the sidelines for the Auburn game that year.

I just found this interesting, because of the several offseason topics regarding why Alabama "had never had one". I doubt the majority of Alabama fans even know there was one at some point.

I think it would be cool if Bama had a live mascot. Then PETA could give y'all shite about Al E. Phant's habitat. Look I even named him for you. Dress him in houndstooth. It would be awesome. Seriously.

Maybe the fact that they lost to Auburn that day is the reason they haven't had one since.
