Lives here 24/7, just look at the post history.

Then go and look at the post history prior to January '19, 85% of his total post count occurred after that date and have been 95% Bama/Saban related.

Let me get this straight dumass! Dabo freaking Sweeney (who ain't a rocket scientist, btw) improved 100% as a football coach in 12 months. While Nick Saban (not a genius either but he'd have to be a sho nuff dumb shite to be as goofy as Dabo who I know personally) completely lost all his football knowledge in the same 12 month period. That's how long it was since Saban's Alabama completely humiliated Dabo's Clemson. Beating them on the field far worse that CU beat Bama. The stats were far closer to equal in Bama's loss than in CU's loss. Both teams stunk it up and turn about is fair play. Laugh frigging out loud at your stupidity. Saban lost his mind and Dabo got a brain transplant...in a 12 month period. Just three or so games earlier Syra damn cuse was beating CU 23 13 with less than a quarter to go. Shat happens.

ETA: back to the topic

USA Today

Clemson players responded to some of the comments made. I hate to say it, but this sounds like the mentality Nick Saban teams used to have.

quote:

"It doesn't bother me at all," Clemson safety Tanner Muse said. "At the end of the day, it's about wins and losses. You either win or you lose. And you say whatever you want afterwards. The final result is the final result. There's no change to it."

I am still waiting on someone to talk about Clemson's tough path back to the playoffs this season. Anyone?

If they were to lose one, they should not get in. Period. Not with that schedule.

Clemson plays who is on their schedule.

I could possibly understand if they had a weak non-conference. But they play A&M and USofC + the ACC.

Not bad.

They played that schedule last year and it was rated #100 out of 130 teams.

The ACC has been pretty bad lately since FSU started sucking.

And yet they have a winning record vs the SEC over the last 5 years...

Again, trying to find anything to belittle the greatness of this Clemson program.

Means as much as LSU scores against Alabama in a home game.

Clemson's regular season SoS last year was rated #100.

Pretty sure A&M was the only top25 team they played all year unless another ACC team managed to squeeze in the top25.

It's your issue if the truth somehow diminishes your opinion of Clemson. I don't think it really matters.

Just curious... where are you getting this number? Not saying it’s wrong. I know there’s a billion different sos resources.

It's based on FEI and doesn't use averages like most do. Most SoS would claim that playing the #1 team and the #100 team is equal to playing the #49 and #51 teams. Because if you average them out, you'll end up with basically 50 in both.

Of course the reality is the team that had to play the #1 team played a much tougher schedule and that team is way more likely to have a loss.

This SoS method does not have that flaw. Instead of using averages it counts the projected losses an elite team would have on each schedule. It also has numbers for good teams and average teams.

It's the only metric I know of that doesn't use averages.

Here is the final rankings for last year. It includes the playoffs, so Clemson finished the year #21(Which is why I say it doesn't matter, if you make it to the playoffs you will be tested). But at the end of the regular season they were #100.

Alabama's wasn't great before the playoffs either. Around 50ish IIRC. Not a surprise considering how badly Louisville ended up sucking. But making the SECCG and the playoffs = #1.

LINK /

Most other conference fans hate it because it's always SEC top heavy. They like those averages that make their #49 and #51 look good. All 14 SEC teams finished in the top17 last year. That's the most top heavy I've ever seen it however.

Gotcha. I know S&P+ uses somewhat similar logic; FPI as well (within their own algorithms). Each, of course, with differing results.

The worst way to do it, imo, is the NCAA’s simpleton addition/division “algorithm” (opponent Win%).

Alabama shouldn't be putting down other teams' schedules.

Very true. I mean, we even have a cupcake on our schedule that has only scored 10 points on us in 3 years.
