isn't this most coaches. you guys act like Dabo is the only head coach who doesn't call plays.

Not sure a program struggling to get talent wants a defensive head coach tbh. Offense is easier to build.

Some guys are better Lieutenants than Captains.

While I have no basis for my sentiment regarding his head coaching ability, its what I believe.

in spirit of 'One SC', SC and Clemson should merge into a new uni called Clemson. need to stop canabilizing each other in recruit and start winning natty's every other year.

Kirby Smart would clean up on the recruiting trail at Carolina. He has pull in the State of Georgia. With the way the rules are set up now it seems that offensive Coordinators are making better HCs than defensive Coordinators.

Kirby at the least would improve the talent level for the next coach to compete right away.

Kirby already has connections and inroads into Georgia for recruiting, which I think would definitely be a key asset for whoever takes over at USCe. Whoever takes over can't rely on only talent from the state of South Carolina, especially since you basically have to split it with Clemson. Being able to grab talent out of Georgia would be huge.

Also, he has learned under not only probably the greatest defensive mind currently in college football, but also the greatest overall program and infrastructure builder in college football. He's been under Saban longer than both Muschamp and McElwain, so I'm not sure if you can compare him to either.

Now don't get me wrong. He is by no means a sure thing. But he his a top notch recruiter who knows Saban's recruiting gameplan first hand, he is a top notch defensive mind, and he has inroads in the closest state with a large recruiting base which happens to neighbor your state.

We want him fired, so if I was you I would move on to Muschamp.

JK.

He should do a great job, but a first time coach is always a risk.

Yes we have more talent in this state than what others may want to believe. We only have 5A I think which is not the biggest but quality over quantity and it's not as hard to compete head to head against Clemson for players as ppl believe

We look for different kinds of players, as well.

Clemson gives zero fricks about character.

We do.

I think you'll get what you should expect when you put a 1st time coach in the SEC.

lol, you are perfect example of a homer. Clowney is no choir boy. you had an ex player, running back, last year lie about something, I think somebody shooting him when he actually shot himself, etc.

Clemson is no. 5 on some academic ranking of college athletes.

Didn't clemson have a player kill a coach with a jet ski or something?

What about that one guy that "dun smoked it all"

Or Sammy Potkins?

1. Smart has great relationships with his players, and they love playing for him.

2. No one will be better preared on gameday. Before the Georgia game, he watched tapes of every Rams game the last two years.

The bigger question is...would Kirby want to go to USC?
