But yeah, the ACC is just as powerful.

The SEC has a losing record vs the ACC in the College Football Playoff era...

There's really more options for a Saban disciple to take over and continue the same process.

If Mario Cristobal has success at Oregon or Pruitt at Tennessee or even Muschamp or Kiffin.

All of these guys are possibilities as Saban will have significant input on who it'll be.

No, the SEC does not. SEC vs ACC in the CFP era is 2-2.

Alabama is home to Dabo but it’s not home to his children. They grew up in South Carolina. I bet Mrs Dabo is treated like a queen around Clemson and the kids probably have it made there too. I can see the dinner table family discussion with Dabo maybe wanting to go home but the wife and kids will be like “naw dad, we’re good here in the Palmetto State.

Maybe. But his kids are grown now so they aren't going to factor in much into a career decision for Dabo, and his wife is from Alabama and is also an Univ of Alabama alum so the ties are pretty strong to both places now.

I didn’t say the ACC was more powerful so there’s that ...noted you went deep (1998) to include Tenn on your NC list so Perhaps you should have gone all the way back to 1980 to include UGA as well (I could have included GT)
Missing from your ACC top 10 list:
VATech
Georgia Tech
UNC
Probably more but didn’t bother looking any further.

He does have it made . Being in a much weaker conference gives him basically a spot in the playoff every year .

Bama has nothing to offer him that he doesn't have at Clemson. He can still get the top recruits there and play a weak schedule just like at Bama. The difference is he isn't following in anyone's footsteps and doesn't have to deal with the Bama fanbase. He goes to bama and all he will hear is what Saban and the bear did. At Clemson people already barely remember Bowden.

Was thinking the same thing about LSU since we finished top 10 last season. He also didn't mention LSU runner up finish in 2011 but mentioned UGA runner up.

I think it's 50/50 for one day Dabo coming back to where he was born and played football or staying where he's got that machine in cruise control against a joke of a football conference.

Dabo will have his 1987 moment for the Alabama job like Bowden. But with far more leverage. His decision alone.
