The OP sounds upset that we as Alabama fans do not see LSU as a big rival game. I understand why they see us as a rival. Saban made them relevant and now he is at UA. But sorry LSU is just another game on our schedule.

The same could be said for our game with LSU. You won what 1 now in the last 9 tries. One game and your fans act like you have been here the whole time.

No that wouldn't bother me since y'all have more history with AU and UT, but it's not true from what I've heard from Alabama fans, players, etc. Bama always take a bye week before LSU.

You won 8 straight but they were usually big games (one was the BCS title game), same with the Iron Bowl. Tennessee has been an afterthought in the SEC when y'all play them for most of the past 12 years

That has a lot more to do with the schedule than the fact it's LSU.

I'm 32. I care more about the Tennessee game than the Auburn game. Tennessee winning 10 of 12 from 95-06 is still pretty vivid in my mind.

What about going 4 of 12 against Auburn in same time period?

Just doesn't hit as hard. 4-8 looks a lot better than 2-10.

I'm sure lmao. Bama fans, coaches and players say they always have that game circled. Saban "we elect to kick arse" last year. I know LSU is 3rd on y'alls hate list, but to pretend it's not considered a big rivalry is lol

I'm sure they have several games circled.

If you actually look at how our schedule has been set up over the last decade, you'd see that the week before LSU has always been the best time to put our bye week. It nicely breaks up our schedule into 3 or 4 game segments.

You're so lame. What "several games" might those be?

Usually the opener against a big name opponent (sets a nice tone right off the bat), LSU, Auburn, Tennessee, and Florida/Georgia if they are on the schedule. Occasionally an Ole Miss or Mississippi State type team if they get a win or two in a row against us.

You don’t have to have a rivalry game to hate a team

Alabama always plays Tennessee on the TSIO, while they almost always play LSU on the second Saturday in November. That's pretty much how Alabama's schedule has been set since at least 1990. Yet, from 1990-2006, 17 seasons, Alabama has scheduled a bye before the LSU game 4 times (never 2 seasons in a row). From 2007-2019 (since Saban has been at Alabama, 13 seasons), Alabama has had a bye before LSU 11 times.

Pretty much it's Saban wanting that bye before LSU.

Look at the fricking schedules and tell me where you would put a bye week. And the TSIO is often not on the TSIO. You really have no idea what you're talking about.

Tennessee is bigger to me because of the time period I grew up in. But I hate Auburn too.

Alabama owned auburn in the 1990s. Tennessee was the bully. And then the Fulmer stuff of the early 2000s when I was in college only deepened the hate.

Are you denying that there were only 4 byes before the LSU game from 1990-2006, and 11 byes before the LSU game from 2007-2019?

I actually brought numbers and stuff, you brought insults, therefore, I win!

Tennessee probably has a higher win percentage against Bama than LSU does. So it's more of a rivalry for sure

UT does have a better winning pct vs UA, and has won more games vs UA. UT also has won more SEC titles than anybody except Alabama.

The people that think UT will never be good again are stupid fricks. I mean, I wish it were so but I know better.

Tennessee also hasn't won the SEC since 1998. In that span, Auburn has won 3 SEC titles and LSU has won 4. I know LSU isn't Bama's main rival and I don't care, but saying Auburn isn't their main rival is a transparent attempt to be petty to AU
