No. Tennessee and Auburn only

Yeah, but not a bitter rival like Auburn and Tennessee. Actually, I kind of like LSU but some of the posters on this board are wacko.

Being a tough team doesn't make you a rival. And, your bye-week status is probably about to get revoked anyway.
Are you saying nickkie is gonna move his bye week and have a scheduled game before the LSU game?

Our traditional rivals are UT and Auburn, sure. Then we have our divisional rivals that we play every year and LSU is at the top of this list because they are usually contenders same as us.

No. They're probably my second favorite west team. The series has definitely taken on more importance the last ten years but I just have no real reason to dislike LSU.

Had they won the BCS title over us in 2011 and or beat us a couple of times since then a lot of us would very likely feel different right now. Starting in 08 it appeared as if a rivalry was in the making but it fizzled out due to LSU not having an elite head coach to coach all that elite talent.

Bama could have really started to hate LSU after 9-6, but then 21-0 happened and an additional 6 wins after that. So obviously, Bama wouldn't hate LSU like LSU hates them. Though I'm sure Bama fans have seen Bama lose to LSU at Bama more than they would like to. I believe Bama is 8-11 against LSU in Alabama since 1980 and LSU gave them the worst losses they've ever had at Bryant-Denny.

Yes it is. What defines a rivalry? Sometimes it's physical proximity, more often it is playing for high stakes.
AU - physical proximity
UT - historically playing for high stakes. Not recently.
LSU - historically often playing for high stakes. Recently (08-15), by far the biggest threat to Bama in the West, also a threat in the SEC and nationally. From 08-15 Bama/LSU was easily the most important game in the SEC. From 2011-17 it has been the annual CBS prime time game. That may change this year. It was must-see TV for the whole football nation until last year when the ratings dropped.
There has never been an SEC rivalry with national stakes like Bama-LSU 08-15 with UF-UT in the 90s the closest. Always both teams ranked at the time with the winner usually in the driver's seat for the West. This even with the lopsided results. But the individual reg season games were always compelling. Even 38-17 was a close game. LSU was the only program in the country from 08-15 who could consistently physically stand up to Alabama. They were the only program in the SEC post 09 UF that the Bama players and coaches were concerned about year to year.
Rankings at game time:
---Bama/LSU
08:1-15
09:3-9
10:5-12
11:2-1
12:1-5
13:1-10
14:5-14
15:4-2
Contrast AU (The 2nd most productive annual SEC opponent from 08-15. Though they are more physical than some give them credit for, they were not close to LSU.):
---Bama/AU
08:1-UR
09:2-UR
10:11-2
11:2-24
12:2-UR
13:1-4
14:1-15
15:2-UR
So yes, LSU is definitely a rival. Bama played them frequently before 1964, and has played them annually since. Yes, Bama has a good record against them, but they do against all of their SEC foes, having a winning record vs every one both as the home team and visitor.

Bama is a bigger rival to us than we are to them. But losing 7 in row will do that. I don’t think the animosity exists between the two like it does with other rivalries. It’s just always the game that tends to decide how thd West will play out, at least for the last decade.
As for relationships with the fans, y’all have some real assholes, but so do we. For the most part, I have met some pretty cool people from Bama.

Only The VOLS and Auburn.
Auburn is a big rival but we live with these folks daily, so you can't hate 'em. The Vols are just dirty, sister-fracking, hillbilly, douchebags.
LSU has been a good game each year, but in no way is a rival. Actually I think many of us like LSU.

You can’t be rivals with redneck sister bangers. Rivals are people you respect. We just hate Bama. We feel about them the same way they feel about libraries.

LSU on your mind and Williams to!

Old news. We are 3rd in the pecking order of rivals to them. Been like that forever besides the game of the century year
