re: Alabama fans, be honest, do you think we've seen the beginning of the end for Saban

Playing devil's advocate, they were also two plays away from 8-4 with one of Saban's most talented teams ever.

Right, but they won those games.

If and buts and all.

This can also be reversed on LSU. LSU beat a putrid Auburn team by 4 and beat Arkansas (who was playing without their QB) by 3. LSU could've easily been 7-5 in the regular season if Auburn or Arkansas pick up a key first down in the fourth quarter of those two games.

Now do you see how idiotic that sounds?

If what you're saying is Bama wasn't as dominant as in year's past, then I agree. But you didn't say that. You just started harping on Bama's close victories.

Offensively I think Rees has a tough job ahead with previously mentioned inexperience at QB. RB has tons of talent, OL is young but talented and WR has plenty of talent but a lot of unknowns. If the QB situation can just be consistent and not turn the ball over we should be good but if they are unable to show other teams a modicum of a passing threat, it will make for a long season.

The baffling thing to me is that they didn't get a more experienced OC.

Perhaps it works great, definitely looks questionable right now though.

You’re acting like I said Alabama sucks or something

They’re simply nowhere close to what they used to be.

Just because nobody is afraid to play Alabama anymore doesn’t mean they suck or something

The problem with Alabama now as I see it is they’ve become very player centric.

Alabama used to be all about the unit with some standouts but now it’s 1 player above everyone all the time.

They don’t have that problem this year because they don’t have any standouts.

I am going to enjoy watching you melt come the first weekend in November when that team with "no standouts" beats LSU.

Just like you laughed when LSU beat a standout laden Bama team last season?

Saban will make Jimbo's a** quit

it's baffling how the end of that game played out

1 play to win the game, within 5-10 yards, how a pick/rub route wasn't the choice call

either you walk in with a TD or you get penalized for another play

dumbfounded

He is 71 years old, so the end is nearing but he is still one of the best coaches in the country.

Make no mistake, even when the end begins it will be a slow process. A machine like Saban has built would continue to run for a while even if he is followed by a moron. If Bama hires anyone smarter than a can of tuna, they'll keep it going for a while. Odds are they will hire a good coach who will at least keep them in contention every year. Will he win like Saban did? No one ever has, so probably not.

That was a great game. I know y'all have been getting a lot of mileage with it.

But you know what's going to happen and so do I.

Riding Alabama’s dick because undefeated Ole Miss got blown the frick out by Brian Kelly and Daddy LSU

The only thing funnier is Ole Miss giving Kiffin a raise after losing 5 of his last 6 games

Bama is still a top program, but they have fallen back into the field. There are clear signs of a decline despite what you choose to ignore.

I see some changes in Saban's character and it's not all good. I had alot of respect for him until even HE started trying to lean on those injuries as an excuse after the loss to UGA in the NCG. I can see some of the fans trying to throw up excuses like that, but there is a time that Saban would NEVER have done that. He was a man's man and would have had the sack to admit they got beat by a better team. It was very unSaban-like.

I've said this on other threads and I'm telling ya, it's the truth; even many of the Bama fans were disappointed with him for doing that. I sat in a room full of Bama fans in Piedmont Alabama and heard a big group of Bama fans say they were embarrassed by not only their on fans for still whining about the Metchie/Williams excuses thing, but also embarrassed by Saban for leaning on that. When your own fans are seeing that kind of decline, there's problems.

I remember in 2013 after the Kick Six, Colin Cowherd said football had passed Saban by, Gus Malzahn was the future of college football, Gus would win more championships than Saban and run him out of the SEC. Many here believed it. That was 10 years and three more national championships (and three runner-up finishes) ago.

Sure you are. BAMA has two last-second losses on the season and on the road and it's over.

LSU gets beaten 4 times and gets hammered by their arch-rival TAMU. Yet, the sky is the limit for the purple people.

Only on the rant dude, only on the rant.

Don't forget LSU got dismantled by Tennessee in Tiger Stadium too.

EDIT: can't believe I'm agreeing with bamameister
