Do you think LSU will be your biggest obstacle?

LSU? Maybe, but I suspect Tennessee, Ole Miss, Arky will be tougher games.

Why? I just do not see LSU with an offensive scheme that can move against Alabama, unless Harris grows a pair and some alien possesses Miles or Cam's soul or something. Not much evidence of an LSU passing attack has been seen for a while and run heavy will not work next year. Of course if the LSU OL comes along and if a confident, accurate, brave not skittish QB shows up and if... anyway, lots of ifs, could happen though.

Frankly I'm not sure the coach knows how to do it. On the other hand, Alabama will be running another multiple offense attack next year against an LSU defense that has its own question marks.

Ole Miss and Tennessee will probably challenge the Alabama defense in more ways and could get lucky, and Arky has the OL to straight out challenge at the LOS. Time will tell.

Blake Barnett seems to be the fan favorite.

He is, but I think it will be Cooper Batemans job to lose.

Bama can only get better next year as every bama team has always been predicted to better than previous bama team by every bama fan ever. Just like every year a large chunk of LSU fans actually think that miles will change. Neither are going to happen in 2016 but bama is more likely to repeat than Miles changing and less than 5% chance of that.

Clemson will be much better as will be Florida state, Stanford and Baylor who are all loaded and returning tons. Ohio state will be back too.

It's lookng better every minute. May only lose a couple of underclassmen. The real change will come on offense. Jacob Coker did the best he could with limited skills. A master job by Alabamas coaching staff. If Barnett is the real deal, and can run and throw, defenses won't be able to stack the box and Kiffens O will be otherworldly. Imagine OJ at TE, Ridley & Foster at WR, and Ardarius Stewart in the SLOT with a QB who can run and throw. Whoever is at RB will see more green grass than any RB since Saban arrived.

Conclusion: Good shot at #17.

A lot of talent and a lot of questions. Need to see what Allen and Howard do and our signing class before making any predictions. I think offense could be a little better while defense is worse.

If Jon Allen, R Foster and Howard return I think this team can do anything from repeat to lose three games. QB will come down to Barnette, Bateman and Cornwell. If we can get at least an AJ type first season out of them I like our chances. Bama had one of the most difficult schedules in the nation this year and next year looks more difficult so it's really hard to tell.

Going to be a lot like this year I suspect.

Defense will be solid, but not quite as strong in the DL.

Offense will depend on what kind of QB play we get. It was shaky early, but improved as the year went by.

I expect a hiccup along the way, but as usual the west beats itself up enough for Bama to make the SECCG again.

With Eddie Jackson coming back and the young 5 star DB's having more experience, I'm loving what our secondary might be next year. The DL has to drop at least a little, but it might be made up with a stronger secondary.

On defense, I'm worried about replacing Ragland more than anyone, because of his leadership as well as his talent.

On offense, the biggest loss IMO is Kelly. The OL was good but not stellar this year, and that's a tough loss.

Honestly, I DON'T KNOW HOW YOU CAN possibly HAVE A BETTER DEFENSE THAN 2016. ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE EVER SEEN.

The problem is going to be that a lot of SEC teams are going to beich better and we play them. LSU, UT, Ole Miss, Arkansas are all going to be very good teams. We may all hurt each other next year.

Yeah, I see Bama coming back down to the pack in the next few years just based on the improvement in competition. It's only a matter of time before LSU, Florida, Georgia starts putting together dominant teams. And programs like Tennessee and Ole Miss really look like they're on the upswing and on the verge of putting together something special. The SEC is on its way to being as strong as it was during the Urban Meyer days.

The orange sleeping giant is finally waking up. Only giant historically bigger in the SEC has been up and wreaking havoc for a while.

So hard to say, but "better" than 14-1, SEC title, and National Title?

Odds are, regardless of anything else, that the answer is simply "no".

Especially considering that we did that in an SEC that went 9-2 in bowl games, plus our big OOC opponent finished with 10 wins and a top 25 ranking as well.

Could we repeat? Sure. Will we? Odds are against us.

I think the number of returning juniors that we've had confirm, so far, gives us a fighting chance to accomplish another NC.
