Man we all knew Bama would be salty, but this is great.

It's almost like all the games matter and you don't get unlimited mulligans even with a playoff, despite your name being Bama.

Lol. Offset the win against UGA by shitting the bed against a 23 point underdog in Vandy. Then lose to Oklahoma. The worst offensive team in the SEC and Bama scored 3 points. The committee got it right.

I'm glad Bama missed the playoffs but this sets a terrible precedent going forward.

Play shite , beat shite all year and make the playoffs.
You guys will see in the near future how that will affect Tigers in some years.

Teams can coast through their conference and be awarded a playoff spot with less losses because they didn't play anyone good.

SEC is tough you will catch some losses and have some big wins. Teams with less losses will now get in.

Coincidentally, those 6-6 teams played the #4 and #8 hardest SOS respectively. Just imagine if they played a schedule ranked in the 80's.

They played the teams on their schedule

And I think this is what people are not getting. Yes, Alabama should have beaten the likes of Oklahoma and Vanderbilt. However, this goes beyond Alabama and will impact the entire conference going forward. The conferences are not made equal. Everyone knows the grind of the SEC is unlike any other power conference in America.

While a lot of you no doubt have earned the right to point at Alabama and laugh, you are failing to see the forest through the trees. The schedule imbalance will come back and bite y'all in the arse. Ole Miss and South Carolina also have a reason to gripe about the outcome, but we are ignoring them because it's more fun to laugh at Alabama's misfortune.

Vanderbilt and Oklahoma were two teams that were confronted with the #4 and #8 schedules respectively. They are likely not as bad as their records may indicate. Vandy should have beaten Missouri and gave Texas everything they could handle.

#19 does not count. Missouri's starting QB was hurt when they played Alabama, therefore they were not the same team. Injuries to starting quarterbacks have to be taken into account for the playoff rankings.

Precedent was set last year

I missed where SMU got destroyed by Vandy and Oklahoma.

They did lose to a team that lost to the 6th best SEC team though

You beat #2 UGA and #19 Mizzou... but lost to #11 TN, an UNRANKED VANDY at home and an UNRANKED OU team.... in which you scored 3pts.

SMU 11-2
Bama 9-3

Yes Bama had some really good wins but they controlled their own destiny.
Unfortunately Whiskey had a bad year so that win was diminished. Losses to middle of the road teams Vandy & Okie. And in both of those games they were dominated at the LOS (especially in the fourth quarter against Vandy).

SMU’s schedule was weaker but they took care of business. Plus last night, they battled back from a 17 point deficit. Had they been blown out, then they would have been toast.
Simple as that.
