In all seriousness, curious if we could ever see two SEC teams in the playoff?

It would've happened a few times recently if the BCS had been +1.

06: #2 Florida and #4 LSU
08: #2 Florida and #4 Alabama
11: #1 LSU and #2 Alabama
12: #2 Alabama and #3 Florida
13: #2 Auburn and #3 Alabama

Auburn will need to step up their game! Lord knows how many times Bama has entered the game #1 or 2, and here comes Auburn diddling along with 2 or more losses. Serious question: Has Auburn ever entered the game ranked #1? 2010, they were 2nd?

I still don't think so. There are 4 spots and five conferences. Getting two in from one conference would be very unlikely unless that conference just completely dominated the top 10. Would take a 2011 type of season

If Penn State had beaten Pitt they and Ohio State would have gone last season.

Can you imagine the chaos that would ensue if this happened, then both teams got into the playoffs. A rematch for the national title would be insane.

No, I quite frankly cannot imagine it.

Governor Ivey would have to declare a State of Emergency. The State of Alabama would be ready to rip itself apart.

Definitely. Probably not Alabama and Auburn due to one having a loss late.

An Alabama/LSU 2011 situation would. However, it all comes to down to everyone else around the country.

It would have probably happened in 2013. On 12/8, both the coaches and AP polls were FSU (13-0), Auburn (12-1), Alabama (11-1) and Michigan State (12-1).

Stanford was the Pac-12 champ with 2 losses and Baylor, the highest ranked Big12 team, was just two weeks removed from a 30 point anal raping by Okie Lite.

Meanwhile, Alabama and Auburn had just played a tremendous game with an epic, last second finish. We would have had a first round rematch and trees everywhere would have trembled in fear.

Auburn is going to lose at least 3 games this year.

Maybe. Things don't go according to the polls always as they should. OSU should probably have been #4 last year, not #3. Your scenario was pre playoff, where they have emphasized conference titles. They easily could have moved it to FSU/Bama and Auburn MSU and probably would have.

I do agree it is easily possible for 2 teams from the same conference to be in.

I guess that's an automatic victory for Auburn since bama almost never beats us if we win 8 or more games in a season

And he's 7-3 against AU since at Bama. Maybe ya'll should win 9 games more often.
