He was no longer under Saban's watch and had clearly gone astray since he left the program.

In fact, he didn't even know that is what Rogers was buying when they stopped. Just ask him.

Saban is the most revered disciplinarian of our time, quite possibly in the history of organized sport. The facts back it up, TideHater. :dwi:

I would put Coach Bobby Knight ahead of him and a few others. I agree Saban wins games but man you got to take the Crimson glasses off. He is not the greatest...simply very good.

If you can show me another current coach who has 3 crystal balls to his credit, I might agree with you.

we are not talking wins...we are talking discipline here. Under Sabans watch we have seen some issues with it. Textbook selling, fishing trips, weed, etc... I am not denying his winning ability. I am just saying he is not the greatest disciplinarian of all time.

Coaching basketball in the era that Knight coached did not require such a level of control and discipline to succeed at the highest level as it does in the world of today's college football. And Saban has matched his total number of championships in just 8 the last 8 seasons. I think it is clear what we are watching today is unprecedented. It's truly inspiring. Of all time.

You post that image showing 9 national championships as if that somehow puts Bama in its place.

Nine NCs is still the MOST all time, as ESPN showed at the end of the game. It's also nearly three times more than anyone else in the SEC.

I disagree. John Wooten won ten NC's in twelve years. Players have always had discipline problems...its just how well you can hide it from the media.

And it's 27 NC's, Bitches.

I've never heard of Coach Wooten. He sounds like a hell of a disciplinarian, relative to his time and place anyway. Regardless, Saban is the most revered disciplinarian in the history of organized sport, imho of course.

Bob Knight is a hypocritical dickhead. I went to his bball camp at Indiana one year. Guy has zero self discipline, yet preaches it constantly. He knows more about bball than nearly anyone alive, but there wasnt a kid at the camp that respected him or wanted to play for him.
