The legacy of Saban will last at least two years after he is gone. I have faith Bama will pluck another great one, but if they get another Bear/Saban all time great I may shoot myself. Think how lucky Bama has been to get the top two coaches of all time. Pretty incredible if you ask me.

When you have great coaches, you have success. Wade, Bryant, and Saban account for most of your success as a program.
In between Bryant and Saban the program was merely average. Sure, 1992 was a great team ... maybe the greatest Bama defense until 2011. But that was one year, bro.
Frank Thomas says hello. So does Gene Stallings, who won 70 games in 7 years. Steve Spurrier is the only thing keeping him from having several SEC titles and more that 1 national championship appearance.
In fact, Stallings is a near-perfect analog for Miles. Fantastic, honorable man who had the bad luck to be in the same conference as one of the GOATs. He averaged 10 wins a year and won a natty, yet fans constantly complained about inept offenses and eventually the school forced him out before he was ready to go.
Pretty sure everyone knows how that worked out for us.

1st
Bama had the most SEC Titles before Saban.
2nd
Bama has added SEC Titles under Saban.
3rd
Bama will add more SEC Titles after Saban is gone.
Good coaches become great at Bama, but...
Bama is where great coaches become legendary!
Us Bama fans are blessed.
It's like being born into a royal family.

Bockrath and Dubose should be ashamed of what they did to Stallings.

Well, no telling what's going to happen in anyone's future. So let's just focus on the here and now. And the here and now is that Saban IS the HC at Bama and IS winning on the regular.
I would be more concerned about getting your HC in to see a top notch Cardiologist ( that's a heart doctor) not making a fat joke, the guy's not healthy, on top of the fat, he looks to be retaining fluid and that's a bad sign...

Bama will be fine and will be able to have their pick of any coach.
If I had to take a guess I would think Dabo would be given a call. I also believe Dabo would more likely accept it too.
As for CNS... a lot of yall are pissed for what he has accomplished while at Bama. Deep down inside you know, if given the opportunity, you would fire your coach if you knew you could get him. If you say other wise, you're lying and you know it.
Also another thing that pissed most people off is that CNS has remained at Bama, and will retire from coaching as the Bama coach. Again many predicted he would be gone after a couple of seasons or 3...yet he remains and that pissed you off.
So...wwith all that Saban has built and accomplished, when he retires and Bama starts looking for a new coach Bama will have their pick of anyone they want.

Kiffin, Kirby or Dabo will take over and we will rock on with the dynasty while others dream of being us. Just that simple.

Why do people give a shite about Alabama, our coach, or what's going on in our program.

Well, since that technically isn't a word, we don't have to worry about it.

I'd say the program didn't become average until Mike DuBose. We were ranked #2 for much of the '86 and '89 seasons. We were among the Top 5 winningest teams in the 90s until we made the ultimate of ultimate mistakes and hired DuBose after Stallings resigned following the'96 season.

Alabama was, without a doubt, the best program in the West throughout the 1990s. They made SEC Championship Game appearances in five of the eight seasons the game was in existence that decade.
Like you said, Gene Stallings is the perfect analogy for Les Miles. His offenses were nothing to write home about but he averaged 10 wins a season.

Bama is one of those schools that "sells itself." Their main concern is not repeating the Dubose / Mike Price debacles.

When Saban leaves u will not be able to get on the suicide phone for ^6 months.

No, we will honor him for being a great coach and then continue to be Bama.

Will be a trainwreck if they make the wrong hire, will continue to trainwreck the SEC if they make the right hire. It is no different than any other major P5 football job.
The "right" hire is going to come nowhere close to Saban's success.

Does our annual drive to the championship game initiate these threads?

GTFO with that. You dumpster gumps always want to claim it's a NC or bust. Now it's a great season to win 10 games. Keep changing the goal posts. Michigan State has won 11 games in 5 of the last 6 seasons, yet their fans are a lot happier than you guys. Because they don't put unrealistic expectations on their team/coaches. It's called humility. Find some.
