Especially when you use martial arts or wrestling moves designed to be on a padded mat... On the grass, agreed
Neither wrestling nor MMA takes place on padded mats that are softer than grass.

So wrestling isn't on padded mats and UFC either ? The octagon is a ring.

Your guys came back fighting. Things will get better when yall aren't so thin due to injuries. Make a thread updating the Mizzou player when you hear something.

Fannin > Fairley when it comes to Thug pos. But since he plays for bama its entertaining play dirty!

Based on one play, versus Fairley's portfolio?

It was a stupid play. And he should be suspended. But he has a long way to go before being compared to Fairley.

Or anyone else at Chop Block U.

Go rewatch the Ole Miss game. Lulz.

The UFC cage is an octagonal structure with walls of metal chain-link fence coated with black vinyl and a diameter of 32 ft (9.8 m), allowing 30 ft (9.1 m) of space from point to point. The fence is 5 ft 6 in to 5 ft 8 in height. The cage sits atop a platform, raising it 4 ft (1.2 m) from the ground. It has foam padding around the top of the fence and between each of the eight sections. It also has two entry-exit gates opposite each other.[95] The mat, painted with sponsorship logos and art, is replaced for each event.

And what if he landed directly on his neck bc he botched it due to the rain?
Highly doubtful that he would land on his neck with the angle a suplex is executed at.

But even still... players can land on their neck during all kinds of football plays.

I'm not saying the guy couldn't have gotten hurt from it. I'm just saying you are exaggerating the danger of a suplex.

Dude. It was a bad play. He got flagged. No one was hurt. So step down off your soapbox.

Just read he gave a thumbs up on the stretcher on his way out, so at least he has some movement in his hand. Y'all are true juggernauts, tough tough team.

They are padded but it's not soft. There is hard ground underneath.

If you land from a hard suplex without breaking your fall, it will hurt a lot.

Grass gives more.

P.S... when you posted about the UFC's "octagon", it says nothing about the mat. It is talking about the cage. There is padding that goes around the metal poles of the cage and along the top of the cage.

Definitely. Hate to see anyone get hurt, and especially go out on a stretcher. Good luck here on out.

Max Copeland made Fanning his bitch after that thug move. Copeland pancaked him then kept driving his face into the turf until his helmet came off.

Coach wrestling and have for 17 years, the mat is padded but a slam hurts bad and yes you can break a neck by an over the head suplex, it is illegal in Folkstyle wrestling (High School & College), legal though in Freestyle & Greco (International and Olympic)

I don't think he wanted to slam him, he just got caught up in the moment. Either way it was sick and I can't wait for him to get more PT.
