That’s a tough spot for Mccarron to start and be successful; I hope he does well there.

It could be argued he would have been better off with the Browns, at least he would have been the starter. Still froze his arse off and gotten killed, but the pay would have been better.

Just read on one of the Bill's sites that the contract will be in the 10 to 15 million range for two years. I bet your arse would hold a clipboard for that.

I would hold a clipboard for the league minimum. $690k would be a nice chunk of change for that job

He'll be the starter while Josh Allen/Darnold/Mayfield whomever is being groomed.

The Bills got him for less money than scrubs like Chase Daniel. Bills front office doing work.

Bills are going to draft a QB. AJ is a placeholder

He will have a shot. That’s all he can ask for.

Wish he'd go somewhere he is the probable first option. Like to see what he can do.

McCarron will be the bridge between Tyrod and whenever the drafted assumed rookie starts. I don’t see a QB out there ready in week one. Even Watson had to wait three or four games to start so I’m thinking Mccarron will at least have that time to show what he has. You have to think the GMs are still wanting to give their prized QBs some time to acclimate and learn the ropes.

Yeah, he'll be the bridge QB until the high draft pick is ready. But he'll get a shot. He'll have a chance to play himself into something more if he succeeds - as a continued starter with the Bills or as a valuable trade for next year.

Great pickup by the Bills - a win-win - save alot of money on a solid QB, and get a high draft choice for the future. Probably not the best place for AJ, but he is a mystery to NFL teams.

Josh McCown at 39 just signed a 1yr $10mil deal

Signing McCannon for 2yr $10mil is a great job by the Bills. I don't think AJ is destined to be a good starter, but he's a better gamble than known shite QBs signing for more

As for AJ, if he just doesn't go Brock Osweiler Trainwreck, he bought himself a lifetime of veteran backup QB $ contracts. He can afford to keep Katherine Webb around

Career NFL Backup The Next Steve Spurrier

That would be perfect timing for him to take over from Dabo and lead Alabama to another half dozen titles.

Also, Spurrier became UF's head coach in 1990. AJ McCarron was born in 1990. It's fate man.

Two QBS from Mobile. One went to LSU, one went Alabama. One was the first overall draft pick, one was the 164th pick. Guess who has had the longer NFL career? (Jeopardy music)

On the same day that Tyrann Mathieu gets cut by his team because he's not worth the money, all these LSU folks are triggered that AJ found a team to start for.

This is a good deal for AJ, he's getting a shot to prove himself.

That's really all he could've hoped for. If he has a pretty good year next year then he can look forward to a trade next year for big money. It's been a Long time since us Bama fans have had a QB in the league we could pull for and AJ has decent potential.
