Because he's won multiple P5 conference titles, a national title, been to the CFB playoff, produced a Heisman winner, averages top-5 recruiting classes and had four first round NFL draft picks at QB. And most of that's just in the last 5 years. As a coordinator he won another national title and learned under two of the greatest coaches ever.

He's a top-5 coach and the only one that was available

I'm not aggie, but Aggies have a lot of money, and if anyone other than Saban is worth it, it's Jimbo. He's proven as an OC and Head coach. Everybody needs great talent to win a championship.

So, you hired Jimbo because he was the "only one available?"

Deserves it more than Meyer and Dabo?

The only top-5 coach, yeah

His resume is bested only by Saban, Dabo and Meyer. Those guys aren't available.

And Jimbo, with all his top 5 classes, didn't have talent great enough to surpass 5-6 this year? And why is it now reported his players at FSU didn't want him back?

Meyer makes $6 million a year, and Dabo and Jimbo's resumes are essentially identical.

He actually hasn't proved too much this season and there are a lot of people in Tallahassee who would wish the Aggies "good luck" and say "adios".

Bill Belichick makes 7.5 mil per year. Jimbo now makes 7.5 mil per year. Let that resonate for a bit.

To be fair he's probably the best coach out there that can be pried away from his school.

They went and got him. Perhaps they overpaid, but they got their man.

LSU didn't. Alleva sucks.

He lost half of his fall camp two deep to injury including his starting QB the first week and three starting OL, started true freshman at 8 different positions at one point including QB and without that many players all but two of the teams he lost to were just flat out better with more experience and talent.

Gene Chizik won the SEC, a national championship, had a player win the Heisman, and a first round QB.

Give better answers.

He did not lose 22 players to injury, this is nonsense. State had more injuries this year than FSU and won 8 games with way less talent in a tougher division.

They are happy that the three year limbo is over, not that they lost Fisher. None of them expect to hire a better coach, they're just happy for stability.

17 players on the two deep missed at least multiple games to injury, and three others played injured all year.
