The Dutch should have given up and moved to higher ground eight or nine centuries ago.

The FBI forgot to video him…
No they didn’t. There was video and audio. The political decision was made in D.C. to shitcan the evidence. I’ll let someone else speculate who ordered it or suggested it be done.

I didn’t know we had these in Vietnam.
Yes, there was a battery (maybe two) of them attached to my mechanized infantry unit in Quang Tri province, operating out of FSB Charlie 2 near the DMZ and Laotian border. Great things to have around and they were very accurate , or at least the men operating them were. I did not know that they were still in service all these years later.

It’s very likely that your old one will be back in the morning too when you let Buffy out to do her business.

He has been around so long that Monty Python was satirizing him in 1970 on the BBC. “The Walking Tree of Dahomey.”

Keith Richards is still Keith Richards and alive.

Nixon too.
Maybe I misread this, but Nixon was never Governor of California. He ran in 1962 for governor after his defeat in the 1960 Presidential election, but lost the gubernatorial race.
I wonder if her constituents in Washington state are clamoring for her to help Cuba and communist authoritarian rule? I think not. If you had any doubt whether this United States congresswoman was a communist or not, here’s your proof.
Did she get that coat from David Byrne or Max Headroom?
Ft. Lewis WA 1969. Drank beer all day and night with my friends. Woke up 24 hours later in Cam Ranh Bay.

I’ve got no problem with hunting animals for food. But, expending exorbitant sums of money to pick off a lion with a high powered rifle from 300 yards away is unbelievably stupid. If you’d like to be adventurous, take the lion on with a big knife or a spear from 3 feet away.

I’d pay to see the Colorado Avalanche play the Lake Itaska Community College women’s ice hockey team. That would certainly be a fair exhibition of comparable skills.

Fentanyl….hunched over.
Known in SFO as “the Fentanyl Flop”. However, if you chose to live in a big city, there’s so much that is great about that area that one can ignore this stuff.
Do you not know that Cuba is a totalitarian state with a ruthless secret police where people spy and inform on each other and where you have zero freedom to express an opinion critical of the government without answering to the truncheon or the boot?
Yet another stupid attorney released on society from the law school factory. (How can he/she even allude to this?). Fed public defender grasping at minute straws.
This is an inexcusable, ignorant travesty. The book was required reading in English class in most high schools back in the day. Why not turn the theme of 1984 into a lesson about the advantages of conformity and working together toward a peaceful common goal?
