re: I think I could fix her

Guess what? Not her first rodeo. In 2022 she pled nolo contendere to disorderly conduct. Partying and making loud noise at her apartment neighbors complain. Police arrive, she treats them like a nuisance and tells them her father is the police chief of North Ridgefield (OH). Cops tell he to be quiet and leave. Shortly thereafter they respond again to another, separate complaint and again she acts the fool. Off you go. No jail time, but got fined. Not fixable. To the other lawyers on here that think that the judge was out of line for locking her up for 7 days, maybe he knew something we didn’t.

Jim was from Boston and sounded like it. The popular song on the jukebox was “She Ran off with [a person who annoys you].” Some of the dumbest people I ever encountered went there. As did some of the smartest. Weird, weird place.

Well that and graduate summa cum laude from Yale with a BA in history, a masters in philosophy from Cambridge, law review at Yale Law School, clerk for two Supreme Court justices, and be a respected and successful attorney. By all accounts she is highly intelligent, a good mom, and obviously has a decent sense of humor. The Times is really sinking to heretofore unplumbed depths.

Do you actually think that…

Of course not. I’m fully aware of medical procedures to staunch the flow of blood and staples to seal lacerations to the scalp. I was merely pointing out what I perceived to be Ms. James incorrect description of what an “injury” is. Any local Texas news media stories on this yet?

Someone diddles your wife and you kill ‘em, it’s manslaughter. Someone diddles your kids and you kill ‘em, you walk.
Just finished reading vivid accounts of naval engagements of American and British ships (including the Constitution) leading up to and during the War of 1812. I had to laugh at that silly TV “news report”.

Did “they” attack her with a stapler? There is zero reportage regarding this from the City of Longview police, the Gregg County sheriff or one, single news outlet in NE Texas. Additionally, something looks “off” with that photo. I could be totally wrong, but this sounds a bit contrived.

EDIT: This would not by any means be the first time that Sarah J. Fields has published unsubstantiated or false stories.

Edit otra vez: I stand corrected. I was wrong. Three women arrested and charged under Texas law with assault resulting in bodily injury. The FBI is also involved investigating the racial component to the event and social media activity by the accused and others both before and after the assault.

I don’t think there are public courses in Highlands. If you’re staying at an Old Edwards Inn property you have access to their course and it’s really nice. There may be similar arrangements for condo rentals at some of the other country clubs. Failing that, I would think you’d have to go to Saphire about 25 miles east to play. It is a nice course though.

Is this the whore that was screaming in the hallways?

No. She was screaming in her chambers and you could hear her in the hallways (and probably in the basement).
Well, this is about as sick as it gets. It also means that there’s an 8th or 9th grader running around that area of Southie with a pistol. Also, there are tons of people who know who these yutes are. Once the disciples of Whitey Bulger find out who…..

Edit: 14 year old arrested. 2 counts of armed robbery and 1 count of illegal possession of a firearm . Juvenile Court
Like the rest of the people posting here, I did not personally watch the trial and can only go by what has been reported by some presumably reputable journalists. It seems to me that this judge ran a tight ship and he’s to be commended. From what little I know, it looks like the prosecutor did a great job presenting the state’s case. I see only two issues for appeal and they’re both very, very weak: the exclusion of the 3 black women from the jury; and the admission of the autopsy photos. It look like there was a valid non-pretextual reason for excluding the black women jurors so that probably isn’t going anywhere. The autopsy photos probably clinched it for any juror who was having doubts. The question would be whether that evidence’s probative value outweighed its prejudicial effect. Anthony is going to need a very smart appellate counsel to brief and argue that aspect. And, I’m not even sure whether Anthony’s defense attorney made a contemporaneous objection to the medical evidence being introduced in the first place. Basically, that’s all I see for appeal and I don’t think there’s a snowball’s chance of this thing getting reversed.
She should be disbarred for these calumnies against the Texas judicial system and the Court. As an attorney what she did in public is a no-no. Furthermore, if I’m Howard Metcalf and his parents, I’m filing a bigass libel suit against her. Tomorrow.

Not sure they could sue his family.

Yes They can. The parents are vicariously liable for harm to others caused by their minor children. Whether or not there is any money that the Anthony family has to satisfy any civil judgment against them is another matter .
Get ready for a lot of “all White jury” nonsense and that excusing the 3 black female jurors was unconstitutional and the fact that they were educators was only used as a pretext to keep the “all White jury” which of course would be prejudiced against a black defendant. It is becoming part of the plot.
