Both are very similar.

Texas has a huge edge at QB, OL, and WR. But Texas A&M has the advantage everywhere else.

Records are both 5-3 currently.

Send the invites!

Rivals with actual hate are so fun to watch.

The Liberty Bowl is a fitting representation of just how insignificant that rivalry is nationally

Making A&M and Texas play eachother in the Liberty Bowl in Memphis on a 41 degree December day would be absolutely perfect.

Ehlinger would rip that defense apart. Would be a great game

It's possible.

They do have murderers row though left with KSU, Baylor, Iowa State, and Texas Tech. Could easily go 1-3 there to be 6-6...highly doubt that though.

Their defense is so bad even Mond would pick them apart as well, statistically their worst defense ever...

Texas (7-5) vs A&M (7-5) in the 2019 Texas Bowl

I actually could see that as an Independence Bowl game here in the greater metropolitan area of Shreveport/Bossier, LA.

I’m genuinely curious; and since you posted this thread, I’ll ask the question here.

Why do you think people are so riveted by this game happening—either as a bowl or as a home-and-home?
Or is that not really the case, and the interest is simply limited to this website (since it’s kinda become a troll)?

I sincerely don’t get it.
I can’t imagine caring whether any two other teams in the country—apart from maybe Army and Navy—ever played each other again.

I’m not criticizing you at all; I’m just wondering, that’s all.

I went back and watched the 2011 Aggy-Texas game highlights last night.

First of all, I had to turn the volume down because the crowd was busting the speaker.

Second, the week leading up to Texas-LSU was almost more of a fight between those two fanbases than it was between the teams actually playing.

Its like a "just frick already" thing.

My question for you is why dont you want that publicity? That would be the highest rated low tier bowl of all time.

First, won't happen. Texas might not make a bowl.

Second, Sam is not a "huge edge" over Kellen. Here are their 2019 stats, with Sam playing a Big 12 schedule:

Sam - 199-303 (65.7), 2739 total yards, 28 TDs, 7 ints
Kellen - 174-275 (63.5), 2355 total yards, 21 Ds, 6 ints

Sam has played OU, LSU, Kansas, TCU, La Tech, Rice, Ok State, and West Virginia
Kellen has played Clemson, Bama, Auburn, Arkansas, Ole Miss, State, Lamar, and Texas State

Id take Ehlinger over Mond any day of the week. His physicality is off the charts good. Hes everything you want in a QB.

It’s an interesting question.

(I caught the “low tier” btw; well done )

Any publicity—positive or negative—would be temporary; so that has nothing to do with it.

Imagine the most annoying neighbor you could ever possibly have.
Your family finally moves to another city; but every now and then you have reason to visit the former city.
Would you prefer to temporarily lodge with that prior, miserable neighbor, or stay in a hotel?

I want nothing to do with ‘em.
It’s that simple.

This thread smells like fear

I agree make it happen, it’s an awesome rivalry and should be kept alive in any way possible
