What were your impressions of the SEC before you joined? Not just performance in sports but of the conference in a social aspect? Friendly? Hostile? Holier than thou attitude warranted/blown out of proportion, etc?

I thought that opposing SEC fanbases would be much more vile towards us. But in my opinion, the SEC fanbases that I have encountered are very passionate, but respectful. With one glaring exception. But all they did was replace texas tech fans, so no biggie.

I think Texas A&m athletics needed the money more than anyone. Y'all were in debt. It's the entire reason y'all left.

Money is always a consideration.
But it wasnt the “entire” reason we left.

Additional variables:
Unequal revenue sharing
Longhorn Network
B12 conference instability and viability; jump off of a slowly sinking ship
Negative conference climate
SEC was a better cultural fit
SEC attracts better coaches
SEC has stronger recruiting
Bad blood amongst B12 member institutions
SEC prestige
Generate greater visibility for our university and athletes
To chart our own path

Ofcourse you can say money is the entire reason. If the payout was more in the big 12 A&m would still be there despite those other variables still holding true.

That’s such an extreme hypothetical, it’s moot.
Not sure how much of an Aggie historian you are, but we wanted out of that conference back when the SWC folded.
Regardless, we’ll just have to agree to disagree.

Why else would A&m block Texas and Ou from going to the PAC12? You could argue if the SEC didn't offer expansion. But its always about the money.

No Aggies have yet mentioned how grateful they are that we are gay- friendly. The fact that we have been so accepting of your unique culture ( no judgment) must be appreciated.

I remember when we made you quit back in the 90's.

We're getting ready to do it again unless you run to the BDF.

And one positive for the sec is we showed everyone we weren't afraid of the gays.

I didn't think there were any Aggies old enough to remember a win over LSU.

So silly.
I’m not old, and we beat y’all regularly when I was an undergrad.
Dang. I hate that I took this bait.

Bow tie Loftin will have a statue before too long.

Best. Decision. Ever. As far as I am concerned or anyone else I've ever met that is a grad.

The national stage attention alone is worth the schedule.

I thought I would miss the Texas game every year, but now I don't give a shite if we ever play them again.
