A&M and Texas are far from 100% State Supported. A&M just raised over $4 Billion in our last Capital Campaign. We certainly get state funding and benefit greatly from the Permanent University Fund which is basically a bunch of oil rich land in West Texas that we get monster interest payments on. That money though is highly restricted and can't be used for scholarships, it's mainly for buildings and infrastructure.

As stated too we have a boatload of scholarship money that is primarily focused on income. If you come from a family without much money you have a good chance of going to A&M tuition free. The in state tuition is also very reasonable though.

Out of State students pay a ton but A&M is about 90% in state. Most of the OOS folks are foreign grad students, A&M has by far the lowest percentage of OOS students of any other SEC school because Texas is loaded with so many large and high quality High Schools and there are only 3 Tier 1 Universities in the State (A&M, Texas, and Rice). Most of the Tier 2's are very expensive private schools that aren't as good as A&M or Texas so you basically pay 5X for a lesser education at a place like Baylor or TCU or SMU.

Texas HS's are big feeders for the SEC and Oklahoma schools though. If you have the grades to get into A&M you likely can get in state tuition or very close to it at most of the SEC schools, often times better. They care about GPA and SAT scores. At A&M and Texas they care mainly about means testing in regards to scholarships, it's very hard to get academic scholarships to A&M and Texas if your parents make over about $75k.

I don't like it. Though I'm not a huge fan of college basketball, or baseball it would be nice to take a championship there. I fully expect to never see A&M's men's basketball team to never win a national title in my lifetime

my Dad was nine years old when aggy won their sole national championship. i’ve been around quite a while myself. the one constant in my life has been listening to aggies brag and proclaim “just wait till next year.”

Aggies learn a lot more than those silly arse cheers they required to stay after the loss and do. This requirement is meant as practice since it was after all the fans fault the team lost. just didn’t cheer enough.

coach Fran once proclaimed “get your licks in while you can.” he musta gone to fish camp because they’re taught (some say brainwashed) things like, we never lose, we just run outta time. We ain’t never been licked. the most unfitting of all, we’ve never seen em quit.

they’re also taught to sing about The University of Texas in they’re school song at every game. Y’all have all seen em swaying back and forth at the games, that too is a tribute to The university of Texas. What you will never see at their games, orange coolers on the sidelines. yet another tribute. never offer an aggie any orange juice on game day, the cult won’t have it.

The last ten years have been such a vacation from Aggy. oh well, all good things must come to an end. let the arse whippings continue.

You do realize that your fight song is "Texas Fight" which was a response to "Farmer's Fight" and that the lyrics are "And it's goodbye to A&M" in response to the A&M Fight song lyric "Goodbye to Texas University".

Aggy may have some old obsession with Texas but at least we were original. Most of your traditions are either knock offs or responses to A&M. You took your nickname from our original yearbook. You named your mascot because we branded him 13-0 and writing in "Bevo" as all you could do to cover it up. You had a hex rally in response to Bonfire.

You guys are the crazy ex girlfriend following us to the SEC. We were perfectly happy leaving your arse and laughing at you. Since you are coming to play with the big boys though it is going to be a lot of fun beating the crap out of you and watching you get tossed around like the campus slut at a frat party.
