Damn you dumb boy.

Go back and read the thread post by post, and then you'll see why I used the "Brotha at a gas station" example.
But alas, you PC people have no time for that. Just scroll through every thread and find the one post that offends you in some way, shaoe or form and attack it.
Gtfo troll.

Like most things when it comes to speech, it depends on context.
Under what circumstances am I as a white guy not allowed to use the words "hooligan" and "ruffian"?
This is very important

ANY. AND. ALL.
Also toss the term "roustabouts" on the barbie to complete the trifecta of words that need to make a comeback

I feel like everyone would get along better if we all started calling criminals "ruffians" instead of "thugs".
Just doing my part.

So if I tell a black guy "Boah!...I don't like you?", is that racist?
If yes, what about when the same context is used on a white boy? Is it racist now?
I'm not arguing that the word can be used to demean someone, what I am arguing is that it's not racist as racist terms are specific to a race. "Boy" can be used to belittle anyone of any race. It's not an exclusive derogative term for African Americans.

What about Worm? Or Hand?
Hand is part of my every day vocabulary.
I enjoy calling my consultants, Hand...it pisses them off, especially over the phone. I can hear old man gargle through the speaker.

Malefactor, now there is a white word
I never hear malefactor in my neighborhood.

As a boy, I find Hamm very offensive. We should find his address and tweet that out to thousands of followers like Spike Lee did with the cop in the Mike Brown case. Only then will justice truly be served.

It can be.

It can be. You haven't really given any context, tbh.

Never said it was exclusive. It was, however, used more heavily to demean the adulthood of black males in the past, hence why it carries a more derogatory connotation when directed at said demographic.
None of this is cut and dried, and I'm not trying to say it's always a racist term. You know I'm not the sensitive sort.
If random joe blow addresses me as "boy," though, I will look at him askance.

The whitest word in the English language is "persnickety". I'm pretty sure a single use of it makes one an honorary Anglo.

CSB: I've met and shared a drink with Hamm. Think I still have his contact info somewhere. He knows about tArk.
Whether that's a good or a bad thing depends on you

But its not racist. (Or at least not where I grew up) It may be demeaning and a way to belittle someone, but its not racist. You can call a white guy "boah" just like you would call an African American a "boah". It can be used on any person of any race in order to disrespect their intelligence and/or maturity. White, black, Asian or Hispanic...it doesn't matter. I don't know what kind of fricked up shite you Southerners use to disrespect African Americans, but "boah" is universal. Just like stupid, idiot, and pendejo.
I get that but there's some extra meaning to it sometimes though.
