Yeah any level-headed A&M or LSU fan knows that we are lucky to both have incredible stadiums to call home.

Tiger Stadium is sort of cool. All I can harp back to are Rust's monologues in True Detective about Louisiana. There is no sense of the outside world. That stadium is completely oblivious to anything in the outside world. Seats were added with zero substance in mind. The new Kyle Field, DKR, Jerry World, and Reliant have four of the largest screens in all of football. That is the Lone Star State. Big. Bold. Tiger Stadium is ugly. And I don't mean that in a bad way. The discounjounted seats piecemealed together with an addition here or there oddly flows with the off kilter drunkenness of its fans. Like the guy at the bar drunk off his arse that stumbles to the pisser but oddly still in rhythm on the dance floor. There is no attempt to make Tiger Stadium less ugly. Unless you look at the purple. The simple feature that seems mandated by its existence. As if it was told "no shirt, no shoes, no setvice" and in protest it didn't wear pants. This color does have an odd way of unifying the stands to their singular focus. If nothing else the stadium does focus on the field. The steep angle of the bowl making you feel as if you're slowly sinking lower and lower in to the Louisiana swamps. And the drunken, pantless coon arse swaying his arm point at you commanding you to felate a large feline on your way down.

As it is, it blows Kyle Field out of the water. As far as looks, seats, suites, and other premium seating, it's Tiger Stadium hands down RIGHT NOW.

Tiger Stadium has never resembled an open tackle box. And it had no bat turds fouling the air, either. And our visitors always had great seats, probably the best in the whole conference. Something that is changing, sadly.

The new Kyle will be very nice, but it's had to come from a long way up to get there.

LSU isn't done with improving Tiger Stadium. And we'll probably take a few ideas from the new Kyle. And hopefully from a few of the other new stadium projects around the conference.

I myself would love to see Missouri-style loge seating in Tiger Stadium. And I would kill to have Kentucky's new Recruiting Room in the student section.

In short, enjoy the new Kyle when you get it. But realize that you had a long way to go to get there. And that's it's now a stationary target.

What is so terrible about the 3 deck look? I really don't understand the hate, tbh.

It's very unique--you know immediately you're looking at Kyle when you see that structure.

I love how he acts like this is honestly a competition that amounts to a hill of beans.

The end of the day, KF and TS will be two gargantuan, nice, loud stadiums.

Tiger fans will prefer TS.

Ags will favor Kyle.

Rinse and repeat

Every fan base is going to think their facilities are the best and look good.

For example, the reason Kyle Field wasn't completely torn down is because so many of our fans liked the look and history of the old stadium.

This entire argument goes nowhere.

To be honest, I think Bryant-Denny is the best looking stadium in the conference and I hope Kyle Field will be that nice when completed in 2015.

I love the way BDS looks. Also favor the Swamp.

It really does. Hell, LSU and TAMU could roll out identical cookie cutter stadiums and both fanbases would still find ways to cut the other facility down

I'm not mad, I'm right. Your mouth-breathing athletic supporter called Tiger Stadium ugly. I was just pointing how much of a glass house he lived in.

Fact is, even after Kyle Field's expansion is finished...in 2015...it will still have less premium seating than Tiger Stadium. And Tiger Stadium still has room to add more.

Not taking anything away from the NEW Kyle Field. But the OLD Kyle Field doesn't even belong in the same conversation as Tiger Stadium RIGHT NOW.

He just can't stand the fact that LSU doesn't have as great a stadium as Daddy. So sad.

I'm talking quantifiable factors here, not just opinions.

Tiger Stadium vs Kyle Field

-Visiting seats? Tiger Stadium in a landslide. Our visiting seats were so good, they were completely out of line with what other stadiums gave our fans. So after our expansion is finished for 2014, future visitors will be relocated to the same kind of nosebleed seats LSU fans get when we travel. Meanwhile, Kyle Field's visiting section is not only small...1,500 less than what the SEC requires conference teams to set aside...it was apparently designed by Torquemada. And the smell from the bat shite in the concourses was ungodly. Sorry, just the facts here.

-Suites Again, Tiger Stadium wins, 70-68. And ours are bigger. We will add another 60-70 suites next year...the shadowed-out seating chart for 2014 shows 70.

-Other premium seating Again Tiger Stadium, and it's not close. TS has 3,200 premium seats atm, Kyle has 1,200. The new expansion for TS adds another 3,000 premium seats...next year.

-Looks Okay this is subjective, but when the stadiums were up for a vote as to which was better looking...in a contest a few years back...Tiger Stadium won in a landslide. "It looks like an open tackle box" was a comment that every voter referenced. The old Kyle, that, is.

Your new stadium is very impressive. And I'm not taking anything away from it. Tiger Stadium is better RIGHT NOW in seating fans in comfort, though. That's undeniable, especially if you are a visiting fan.

You do realize we're coming from a conference that had far less traveling fans, correct?

Cry me a river.

Again, I don't care about suites. I can't afford them, and even if I could, I prefer the stadium feel. So that's a non-entity for me.

That's really what this comes down to.

quote:

And this matters........why? Like I said, I (and many other Ags) like the tackle box look because it is unique. We don't want our stadium to look like y'all's. Deal with it.

The new Kyle will still have the triple decker look that so many of you hate for no other reason than it doesn't look like your typical stadium.
