Texas fans, and their QB, were taunting A&M for needing 7 OTs to beat LSU, and they guaranteed they wouldn't need OT....they were right...

No we dont need to play them, or should want to. If LSU, Ark, UGA want to pad their win totals, be our guest. We are good with ND, Colorado, Miami instead.

This is the return trip from over 10 years ago. Arkansas played at Texas in 2008. Texas was supposed to return the favor and play at Arkansas afterwards.

But instead, Arkansas jumped at the opportunity to play Texas A&M at Jerry World and signed up for a 10 year series. This pushed the Texas game at Arkansas all the way back to 2020 (which is when the A&M series would end). I believe Arkansas wanted to reschedule the game to happen this decade once A&M became a conference opponent, but Texas wasn't having it. As a matter of fact, I think Texas even tried to cancel the return trip after they heard of the Southwest Classic. Texas wasn't going to play second fiddle to Aggy.

That game was within single digits the majority of the second half.

Poor aggy, feeling left out so he has to embellish things.

Arkansas backed out of 2009 and the remaining game was mutually rescheduled twice.

FAYETTEVILLE - The University of Arkansas' football game against the University of Texas scheduled for the 2014 season has been moved to the 2021 season it was announced on Thursday.

The Razorbacks and Longhorns will now meet on Sept. 11, 2021 at Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

"Beginning more than a year ago, we have had discussions with the University of Texas regarding re-scheduling the remaining football game in our current contract," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. "Based on multiple factors, including scheduling changes within the Big 12 Conference and Southeastern Conference, the game was moved to the next available game date for both institutions. We look forward to finishing this two-game series in 2021."

A&m tried to continue rivalry when they left but texas and Deloss dodds said "no our schedule is full". When texas came back to a&m a&m gave texas a dose of their our medicine and said the same thing back. I don't see how some of yall dint get that

I get it completely.

The difference is, aggy pissed and moaned that TEXAS should buy out their contracted opponents ($$$) and give aggy that spot.

TEXAS just said "thanks" and scheduled someone else (Alabama).

And they’re quick to point out that they had a 14 point lead until Georgia scored a TD with almost no time left. Hmmm...

I remember DeLoss Dodds saying:

"They left. They're the ones that decided not to play us. We get to decide when we play again. I think that's fair. If you did a survey of our fans about playing A&M, they don't want to. It's overwhelming. I know. I hear it. Our fans are important to us. I think there's got to be a period where things get different. I think there's too many hard feelings."

USA Today: DeLoss Dodds is fricking a-hole and texashorn does not have his facts straight.

It had NOTHING to do with rescheduling and buying out OOCs.

Now, I'm just going to sit over here being right.

WE get to decide. And WE decided, frick TEXAS. We don't need it. We want exposure elsewhere. Enjoy sleeping in the bed you made.

There is mass confusion about this.

There are 7 or 8 aggies here, who claim that Texas is scared of Them. Then they follow up with LSU was scared of aggy for 17 years.

It seems to be their, run to momma phrase when they run out of substance.

“Your team is scared of our team! Etc”.

I do t see that. Especially when the level headed aggy fanbase comes here and says that it was indeed a does of their own medicine.

I choose to believe the levelheaded ones.
I also choose not to lump other atm fans with these 7 or 8 boys that have shat up the sec rant. ATM is good folk.

If the Aggie admin wanted to play Texas annually in fball, it would happen.

of course UT balked at continuing the series when the Ags departed the Big 12. That would be the reaction of any team in that situation.

Texas football has dominated A&M for over a century. I doubt UT is scared of the Aggies.

It absolutely makes zero sense that Aggie and Texas don’t play annually.

Well, it does since A&M ran off and there hasn't been much of an effort by either side to set up an annual game.

How old are you?

They are basically 50/50 in the last 50 years.

They dropped a easy touchdown in the first. We dropped one touchdown pass and then settled for a field goal. Texas scores in garbage time. If we don’t fail that 3rd and 1 on first drive of second half, that game probably gets ugly.

What any rational person (i.e., non Aggie) understands.

One of the problems is that A&M v. UT was never a particularly historically important game. If OU or Tex ever decided to jump ship, for example, there would probably be some sort of effort to try to save the Texas/OU game just because its a lot more historically significant a game.

Many folks from outside Texas have the mistaken notion that A&M/Texas rivalry was in the same neighborhood as Texas/OU. Maybe it was before any of us were born.

ive seen your fans openly root for OU when playing an SEC team. Would they ever consider that when A&M plays a B12 team? Its cause of the mutual respect between you and OU though, isnt it?

I am 68. The first college football game I ever attended was in Austin in 1958. Family moved to Barton Rouge and we all became LSU fans within a season. I've been attending LSU games live since 1960 when I was 9.

UT leads A&M 76-37-5 in the overall series record.

UT beat A&M 12 of the last 17 games they played.

Texas is a far superior football program to A&M overall and superior currently.

GeorgeWest from Barton Rouge:

At 68 you should know that if A&M went co-ed earlier and wasn't defeating the jerries in WWII and the slopes in Nam, they would have been wining a whole lot more national championships and co-conference championships.

So, anyway.
