Not necessarily though. As an example, AR has more wins than us because they've been around longer.

Edit: As another example...there are some mediocre programs that have more wins than FSU (who's only been around since 47).

the only conferences that are questionable would be the big east and the ACC. the pac 8/10/12, swc, sec, big 10, and big 8/12 are all legit

Personally, I think a combination of winning percentage, sos, and BCS titles/BCS bowl wins (since it is a system that everyone agreed to play under) is fair to everyone.

That will always be the case. Without any kind of covariate or way to balance programs (teams/schools were very different back in the day), inequities will abound.

Okay, what about just winning % and sos? Those are the only things that a program can really control.
