I don't doubt that he was injured in the game, but do you think it's as serious as they said (MCL sprain)? I can understand him going off adrenaline, getting a shot in the locker room, and getting back out there during the Auburn game. But from everything I've read and heard, that injury only gets worse as the first few days go by.

I know it's already been discussed on here, but if it really is that serious, why is Mullen going to risk the kid's health by putting them out there?

Honest question for Florida fans: Does a healthy Emory Jones give you a better shot to beat LSU than a 60-70% Kyle Trask?

What kind of black magic does Dan have up his sleeve to have Trask ready for Saturday? Is there a chance he is going to run out Jones for the first snap instead of Trask?

I know this thread will quickly devolve, but just looking for some honest insight from Gator fans. Mostly about a healthy Jones vs. gimpy Trask giving you the best shot.

ETA: A medical picture from the Interweb. What grade injury are we dealing with here?

Neither one of their remaining QBs will be able to think straight. So does it really matter.

Did you see the awkwardness of the hit? Looked like it should have been much worse to me.

I think if Dan thinks its bad enough to truly limit his mobility to the point of being a liability, we will see a lot of packages with Jones. That or they plan on ground and pounding it either way to control the clock and limit Burrow's touches.

Jones is better then Trask at 80% . Jones have a lot of turnovers in practice. Jones is clearly the better runner and he has the better arm. In my opinion Jones will be the starter before the season is over . LSU will likely see 2 QBs Saturday the only questions is how much will each of them play.

Trask was never going to make hay with his legs anyway.

Brace it up and play. There will be plenty of sprained joints playing on that field Saturday. It's just part of it

With our OL the only way we ground and pound is if Jones plays QB . We can run the ball with this OL unless the QB is a real threat .

I think they will do a bunch of wildcat and other stuff like that to mitigate how much he really has to do. If is he is ok he is a crybaby.

I heard that they were both hurt and Luke Matthews was playing and that Coach Spurrier was coaching him up. Y'all in trouble now. 58-3 Gators.

I agree

I think UF fields 2 QBs during the course of the game

I think Jones looked better he had some zip on the ball and looked more athletic overall

These are all tears.

Trask has a sprain. So his injury is less than any of these but a little worse than healthy.

Gumbo - according to the Internet

quote:

There are 3 grades of sprains. A grade one sprain involves stretching and minor tearing of the MCL fibers; a grade two sprain involves partial (50%) tearing; and, a grade three sprain is a complete tear or rupture of the MCL.

IF that's true, my larger issue is why not distinguish between sprains and tears. But I'm also not a doctor. Not even close

I assumed Jones had to be getting snaps with the first team in practice this week. I expect to see Mullen work him in a bit Saturday.

So in the medical community tear = sprain.

I did not know that. My learning for the day is done.

Yes, we as LSU fans are all terrified of Kyle "Hasn't Started a Game Since 8th Grade" Trask. Why don't you worry about your own QB, pal!

Now that Florida has beaten you it appears you have climbed aboard the Gator penis.

Don't worry - You all will get your whooping here in a few weeks.

Trask was limited in practice on Monday.

He was a full participant on Tuesday and Wednesday.

He'll be ready to go.

He looked pretty damn fast in those design run plays/scambles against Auburn.

A sprain can be overstretched ligaments or tears depending on severity.
