That's why the baseball tourney still exists. Frankly, SEC baseball has nothing more to prove, at the conclusion of a season, with a SEC tourney.

Nah I wasn't expecting this to be a realistic change.. just something I'd like to see so no matter who wins they're a legit top SEC team.

I think that if it were the top 6 teams regardless of division, it would still be profitable.
After the top 6, most fans pretty much give up on it anyways and won't make the trip to Hoover unless they live in Bama.

not really, LSU has not pitched available pitchers to save them for regionals. I really haven't seen anything like that in football or basketball.

if you win the tournament, you are the tournament champion.
The SEC should, however, have tiebreakers for the regular season. Its pathetic that Ole Miss can claim to be co-champs after we beat them last year. If we were tied with Ole Miss, and they kicked our arse, why should we be considered the SEC champion?

Much more difficult to win a regular season title in baseball than the tourny.
You could just get real hot for one week and win the tourny but you need consistency to win the Regular season title.
That's a nice opinion but it still doesn't change the fact that tournament champs are the recognized champs of a conference. There are conference champs (tournament winner) and then below that are regular season champs.

what exactly are you talking about?
One is the SEC Champion and one is the SEC Tournament Champion. The NCAA is going to give the auto-bid to the tournament champion because its part of the post-season play. I'm not really sure what you are talking about with the above and below part.
That is the rational way to look at it, I didn't realize people took the tournament champions to be the actual SEC champion for the season. Seems pretty stupid to me
