So just because you know a lot of UGA grad accountants that work in Atlanta, GA, the UGA program is better than Ole Miss? I mean that 37% acceptance rate…

Not really. Most of the people I know who did well in high school went on to do well in college and life. Most of the people I know that went to ole Miss did not do well in high school. And who knows what happened to them.

Tell yourself an academic experience is the same from ole miss to Florida lol
I knew plenty of those Texans who flocked to ole miss for the automatic admission. They ALL said it was less academically stressful than high school.

Because UGA is a far more selective school, it means that the majority of our programs are better.

Nice deflection… I didn’t claim there were NO UGA accountants…. I just said that I have never professionally interacted with one in any of the places I’ve lived. 37%….. y’all almost up there with Vanderbilt.

Then change the law and demand excellence instead of the “everyone gets a trophy” mentality to education. Your state isn’t overrun with students begging to get in like UT, Florida, etc. so you can try to have some form of academic rigor instead of being a diploma mill

Well, it sounds like you’ve lived in pretty shitty areas, so I’m not surprised that you haven’t interacted with UGA grads that live in more desirable areas.

I know a lot of Texas freshmen who flunked out with the quickness when they got away from their parents… lots of kids from MSand others states as well. If I had gone straight to college from HS, I probably would have been one of them as well. I needed my 3 years of military to develop discipline.

Sounds like you are a typical rustic hillbilly who is afraid to experience the real world.

This is true, college is difficult regardless of where it’s taking place and requires a level of maturity that some don’t have yet at 18.
I’m just saying of the 10 or so I know that went to ole miss from Texas that was their takeaway. Small sample size but that was it.

Johns Creek was just voted the best place to live by the US News in the country (Atlanta metro). Alpharetta was voted the 22nd best place to live in the country (also Atlanta metro).

This thread with so called college grads arguing over shite like acceptance rates is a prime example of how stupid the entire thing is.
You know what the #1 factor in getting a good education and learning things actually is? The student. Anyone who wants to learn can do it at any school, or just by going to the library even.
All the arguments here are based on what the minimum you have to do to "graduate". Meanwhile again, it's all about the student and the only people who need minimums are the ones paying for the paper.
What a misfortune it is that we should thus be compelled to let our boys’ schooling interfere with their education!

In season too. This should be a mid-July thread if it was to be made.

Like I said, I will put Anchorage up against any place in Georgia, anytime. I have been to Georgia many many times. Have you ever been to Alaska… any part of Alaska?
Speaking from ignorance is not the way to win arguments.

What part was hard to understand?
Degrees are mostly a product being sold. And they keep making up as many new flavors as people will buy, while lowering the standards to make sure people are able to buy it.
Not to mention the extreme amounts of indoctrination rather than actual education.
Some professions do require it. And in some I wouldn't say it's required, but can still be helpful. Many are a complete waste.

How dare you make such an assumption.
I mean, they could be movers, metal scrappers, excavators, roofers, ...
