So why are you bragging about mediocre results? Like I said, it’s not where you start but how you finish.

Yeah, you can’t take these Ole Miss people seriously. They’re too dumb.

This is a relic of the civil rights era specific to Mississippi. There was an allegation that the higher education structure in Mississippi perpetuated segregation, so there was a consent order from SCOTUS that dictated, among other things, that the public universities and the IHL set universal acceptance standards that could be applied to all the schools, including the HBCUs. This resulted in a very low standard (15–16 ACT score and a 2.0 GPA).

State and Ole Miss have been hamstrung by it ever since.

Our recent incoming class had an average GPA over 4.0 with nine AP classes taken in high school.

Ole Miss’ incoming class had a 2.5 average GPA.

Ole Miss is required by law to accept almost every applicant that meets minimum requirements.

Congrats. I know a guy that transferred to UGA from Ole Miss because he was going to fail out at Ole Miss.

Just keep making my point to you… why such average and mediocre results when you set the bar so high for incoming freshmen?

Was this back in 1972? If so, not really relevant today.

Atlanta, GA … ‘I know lots of UGA accountants that live and work there…??

I’ve lived in Mississippi, Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Alaska, Germany… haven’t met any UGA accountants in my 30+ years of professional accounting. I’ve met Florida, MS State, UT (both) and USC , but no Georgia accountants.

I know a Bearshark accounting grad who can barely right his own name. It’s sad.

I do personally know an OM grad that picked them because of accounting, so I actually think there may be something valid there. He looked into Bama and UF for law school afterwards.

We have a lot of stupid people in this state. Lack of parental involvement is rampant.

So just because you haven’t met any UGA graduates that are accountants it means there definitely aren’t any. Your logic is sound my friend.

Furthermore, because you haven’t met any UGA accountants it totally means that ole miss overall is a better school with brighter students. Who can argue with such airtight reasoning?

To hell with average sat/act scores, average gpa’s for admission, and average mid-career earning statistics. Those stats are all irrelevant nonsense. Because this guy has never personally met any UGA accountants in an alleged 30 year career as an accountant there is sufficient evidence to conclude that Ole Miss is superior. Case closed.

I think each SEC school has disciplines they excel in. To have a d1ck measuring contest based on where someone started in life is really dumb. I’ll bet you know plenty of people who peaked in HS and sh!t the bed when they got to college…. No matter what their HS gpa and ACT/SAT scores were.
