Not gonna lie. These boards would be pure fire to read if any of this really ends up happening

lol are you suggesting a major university would sacrifice money for a better student experience? I got two words for you ha and ha
Some of these conferences are allowing teams to keep the entire playoff payout. It could be seen as an increase in $ if they think too highly of themselves.

Miami did bank 40 mil. And I have no idea how they value the tv ratings football bball thing they have but I’m betting you gotta make the natty in football or bball every year to out pace an sec or big team

At this point does the difference in how much your conf tv contract gives a program really matter vs. how much NIL $$$ your program can drum up?

I think it does. The guys calling the shots are the guys balancing the budgets and they don’t receive nil.

If there is any truth at all to this - and I very much doubt there is - then that's a pretty big tell that the SEC is planning to add Clemson and either FSU or Miami in the near future. That's about the only thing that I think could make UF and SC "disgruntled."

Most people are making assumptions that these bean counters aren’t skimming money but people are dishonest by nature. It’s the main reason why one-time successful businesses fold up entirely

Miss State is also rumored to being shopped.

Which makes zero sense. Not that any of em make sense but uf at least has ties with Miami and fsu. And usce has ties to Clem possibly the Tar Heel State schools too. But why miss st? Why take a paycut and lose all geographical rivals? For a perceived easier path to the playoffs. Also I’m not sure miss st could find access to the playoffs in the acc to tap the extra money. The acc is a two bid league. They beating out Miami Clem and fsu most years? How bout vt unc and nc state? They just got Mollywhopped by wake who is a bottom half of acc team.

If any program should be disgruntled with the SEC, it’s Auburn. They were royally fricked in game altering fashion in three different games by SEC refs during this football season. And it’s early in basketball and they’ve already been royally fricked by SEC refs again.
Posted on 1/13/26 at 11:00 am to Yaboylsu63
That will never happen. Florida has dominated the SEC in titles across all sports with over 300 titles. Not sure why'd they'd leave.
