Where those guys highly recruited? 3 or 4 star guys? Is the staff just excellent at developing guys or experts at finding the 2 star diamonds? Thanks.

The following are NFL/NFL bound players from Mizzou rated 3* by Rivals
Shane Ray: 3 star recruit--considered a potential #1 overall pick by Mel Kiper
Markus Golden: 3 star recruit--considered a potential 1st round pick
E.J. Gaines: 3 star recruit--drafted and starting as a rookie in the NFL
Aldon Smith: 3 star recruit--top 10 draft pick and possibly the NFL's best pass-rusher (can't fix stupid though)
Tim Barnes: 3 star recruit--starting center for the Rams
William Moore: 3 star recruit--starter and staple of the Falcon's defense
Ziggy Hood: 3 star recruit--1st round draft pick starts for the Steelers DL
Chase Daniel: 3 star recruit--backup QB for SB winning Saints and currently backup QB for Chiefs
Zaviar Gooden: 3 star recruit--LB for the Titans
The following are NFL players from Mizzou rated 2* by Rivals
Michael Sam: 2 star recruit--won SEC defensive player of the year
Justin Britt: 2 star recruit--drafted 2nd round and starting for the Seahawks' OL
Michael Egnew: 2 star recruit--Consensus All-American, NFL draft pick and playing for the Jaguars.
Andrew Gachkar: 2 star recruit--Linebacker for the Chargers
Sean Weatherspoon: 2 star recruit--1st rounder and backbone of Falcon's defense
Lower than 2*
Beau Brinkley: 0 stars--starting long snapper for the Titans
Those are just a few of the 2-3 stars off the top of my head that Pinkel has put into great position in the NFL.

Golden was a JuCo transfer out of St Louis. LB switched to end coming into college.
Ray was 3 star.
Ray was 3 star.

No doubt, they look to be impressive.

Golden was JUCO.
Ray wasn't super highly recruited - 3 stars with some interest from Wisconsin, ND and kU.
We have our own evaluation system. We do what we do.

Ray's father also played at Mizzou.

We have 5 star guys all over the DL and we can't get after the qb like mizzou does. I am impressed.

yea pretty sure both were Rivals 3 stars, as mentioned Golden at LB as JUCO(a HS RB) and Ray at DL.
Additionally Shane Ray is the son of former Mizzou D lineman Wendall Ray, who played for Warren Powers and was a 5th rounder (Vikings).
Both were "highly recruited" by Mizzou, but beyond that, couldn't tell ya.
Kuligowski, the D line coach is unquestionably the top position coach on the staff and Pat Ivey our Strength and Conditioning specialist is probably 2nd to none.
yea our "book ends" get all the press and glory but our big boys in the middle are just dam fine DT's..
Matt Hoch, Lucas Vincent, Harold Brantley and Josh "Fat Cheetah" Augusta are all playing real good ball this season.
Hoch and Vincent, both seniors, are both returning starters, Matt is a converted TE to DE to DT, and the younger brother of Dan Hoch who started at OT for us for 3 years. Both Brantley and the Fat Cheetah are sophomores... (so sorry, SEC, our D line isn't going to magically just go away.. )

I was impressed with all Mizzous DL. I understand UTs OL is young and injuries have taken a toll.

When you look back at Aldon Smith, Kony Ealy, Sam and look ahead at Loud and Harris, you start to realize it's about the staff development and evaluating talent. It is something pretty special.

We have the best DL coach in the nation. It's pretty simple.
Ray was fairly highly recruited. 3* but had several power 5 offers. Nearly flipped to ND
Golden was a HS RB from ST Louis that had no chance to qualify. We stashed him at a JUCO where he was an All American LB.

I just don't know that much about other DL coaches, but it really is hard to imagine there is one out there that is better.

Last week vs A&M, I think it was Palmer that was calling our game….can't remember. He thought Shane Ray had made a play….but it was 91 Charles Harris. He was like, wow…I thought it was Ray because of how fast he was.
We have more that are redshirting.

Harris will be the next star DE. Brantley is a 1st rounder at DT, I could see him dropping 10 lbs and playing DE next year when we get Beckner.
Our DL will be quite good again next year. If they are as good as the past two years will depend on depth developing.

And the next one will be Charles Harris.
What was Brantley? I've heard 2 and I've heard 3.

If the entire DL hadn't been doing it all year and not just against UT, I might not think as highly of them. But they have done it all year and I do think they're pretty good.

Development is key. Mizzou has been incredibly smart in that they tend to unleash these guys as juniors and seniors and when they do - look the frick out. An eye for talent is also def. there but with OLs/DLs you can rarely go by star ranking.

Looking at their entire DL I think the S&C coach is the key. Their guys are slim strong and fast as hell.

Brantley was a 2*. Flipped him from Syracuse late.
