They're way ahead of us
It's basically the same thing that surlyhorns is running but with the amazing exception of Looch stealing 25% off the top. But good on Looch for doing this one though (and stealing from the fan base...love that). It's how most imagine NIL should work to some extent.
What I find hilarious is that this is the first and only NIL deal that the ags have publicized, yet we are to believe some super duper secret alums have created numerous shadow LLC's to pay/induce recruits, not yet on campus, for this year's class? GTFO.
Call it what it is. This year was dropping bags. The above is their first foray into legitimate NIL dealings. Congrats I guess.

This is a great idea. Like it.

They are budgeting a portion of the money for gear and production costs. Texags has a legit studio and they crank out some pretty high quality content. I seriously doubt they use this as a major profit center as it would be bad business for them but content and gear is how you get people to keep paying in, folks still want something tangible for their money.
A&M and Texas both can raise and spend obscene amounts of money in a hurry, both have over 500k living alumni and a high average salary for grads. I fully expect both fanbases to come up with a variety of schemes to pay players in all kinds of creative ways.

That would honestly be a killer place to work.

You didn’t hear about the other NIL deals? Merch? Signings? Spokesperson for restaurants? Paid interviews? Appearances?

I actually don’t think it will bring in that much money
You’re joking, right?
Already on track for more than $200k annually and they just launched this morning.
It will generate seven figures a year in NIL funds.

The joy of reading this while knowing there’s absolutely nothing your apathetic and flaccid (yes) fan base can do but cry about it.
I don’t know. Maybe don’t hire someone like fricking Steve Sarkisian?
Maybe don’t lose to Kansas at home while Harold Perkins laughs in your face?
$4 million for a fourth string QB lol.
$150k a year to each kid who helps perpetuate your rich tradition of shitty OL play.
We’re Texas.

Aggies ain't messing around. Its going to be really interesting regardless of what you trolls think
I like to think I'm not a troll - but yes, I do think what A&M is doing is a game changer.
And as I've said, I think they've went too far - not from any kind of legal or moral aspect - but simply as far as how much talent any coach can manage. And it's certainly more than I think Jimbo can manage, based on his past performance.
It is interesting ... I'll certainly be watching. My bet is that you'll see teams, once they get this all figured out, actually change how they recruit. Teams will have to look at sustainability as far as signing classes, and place value on a kid's perceived willingness to stay rather than hit the portal.
The old days of signing a kid, then recruiting over him while he fills the two deep, are probably gone. And that's OK.

This is basically a 2-3 month later copy of what the texas board did (but texags has less heathens and should bank more)

TexAgs has way more subscribers than OB does, and a LOT of subscribers donating in the top range of $100/mo to NIL. I'm betting that millions will be raised annually by A&M fans on TA alone for exclusive interviews and signed stuff
This doesn't include all the businesses besides TA out there. If TexAgs can corner the market on sports for A&M graduates, they will profit handsomely from this as well while conducting exclusive interviews at tens of thousands each time ...
They said they were working on something. Not too shabby. No wonder our class was so damned nice

lol. Look at you little douchebags trying to scurry around and build something up of consequence before your Dad gets home. You see the window closing. Your admin sees the window closing. Your cuckold head coach sees the window closing.
Before your dreams get crushed, again and again and again, make sure you keep beating that chest after forfeiting your bowl game to the Almighty Wake Forest.
We all know what's going to happen soon enough. You're going to frick it up. You're the Aggies. That's what you do. When things get tough, your 12th man forfeits and blames the boogeyman.

Yeah, I'm ok with taking a chance on having a ridiculous amount of talent to manage and seeing how it goes vs not having that talent.

I hope they’re planning on paying those A&M players a lot of money if it means they have to interact with TexAgs users.
Somewhere Tennstudd is looking up from Hell and wondering what the going rate is to get them to climb into the hot tub.

Perfectly understandable. And back when I gave a shite about basketball - I thought the same about Calipari. My go to line was "When he's got all queens, and you've got all pawns, Calipari can beat Bobby Fischer."
The problem was - he couldn't sustain it. But, honestly, I do get it. I get the excitement from you folks.
And I'm interested. I'll follow A&M next year - just to see how this all goes.

This NIL deal that literally just started fund raising had nothing to do with the current class. If you think so you’re missing about 3 key points on the Texas NIL law. This class was straight cash hommie.
Anyway what is interesting is Texas, being first in this space of publicized coop nil deals, has chosen to fund entire position groups (first TE, now OLine). Not just individuals. This allows them to indirectly market it to prospects (the starting LB joked he was excited to switch to OL next season), but is obviously significantly more expensive.

I think that's smart - it'll eliminate jealousy.
The best model I've seen is that chain of gyms around Miami. It was a very modest sum of money, $500 a month. But it was offered to any player on the team - starter, sub, didn't matter. I can see where that kind of model is a winner ... and easier to deal with from a coaching perspective.

I guess we should start charging aggie posters here a fee to fund our NIL. Ya’ll are so rich you won’t mind right?
We actually joked over on our team board that we were going to sponsor a player and have him do an ad that tells people to come to the A&M Tigerdroppings board instead of TexAgs.

There is a reason a kid will transfer. Better NIL money at another school. We are going to turn these kids into mercenaries. Highest bidder with no salary cap.
