Well Clemson is notorious for starting slow.
Yes, they put the weenie to Georgia Tech. That having been said Georgia Tech was not so good last year and they are moving away from the triple option offense.
So could A&M beat Clemson?
Sure. If the Aggies get a hot start Clemson has shown they can lose to teams with lesser talent. Syracuse has been their nightmare for a few years now and I dare say that A&M brings more to the table then Syracuse.

Not a chance. The OL just plain sucks, with no talent, and now no coaching. For some reason the career back-up Prater continues to start, continues to suck, and now he is at Center - most important part of the line because he calls the coverages
Mond looks better, but is still good for a few WTF throws a game. RB’s have nowhere to go because the OL sucks, and WR keep dropping everything. TE’s are all hurt, and only good one is a true fish Inconsistent is the nicest thing you can say about the offense, and they coughed it up TWICE inside the one yard line last night through just stupid play
Defense is the one bright spot on this average team. I’ll watch the games and simply hope we don’t get blown out, but Fisher is over-rated, and his choice for OL coach is simply terrible at both coaching and recruiting. A&M would be a playoff team with better OL play, but they don’t have it, and probably won’t for years if last night is any indication

Tech only had 13 first downs and had less than 300 yds total offense in a game where Clemson didn't play their starters early at all in the 2nd half, so....

Well they lost their entire DL to the draft so I would think they would not be quite as good .

I expect clemson to win, but if they are going to lose a game before the CFP, it will be against us. Just look at their schedule. The only other ranked team they face is Syracuse at #22. If Lawrence stays healthy, we are the only team they face in the regular season who will make him think. The rest of the ACC should be ashamed of themselves

Clemson's pass rush is very good. Run defense may be a work in progress relative to last year.

To be fair, though, Clemson didn't look great against GT.
GT shot themselves in the foot quite a bit with turnovers, putting themselves in a hole quickly.
Lawrence did not look good against, quite frankly, a terrible pass defense.
Clemson jumped on GT miscues. A decent offense and some ball control, and the game doesn't get away from Tech so fast.

I was commenting more on Clemson's defense. The poster I was responding to said that Clemson's defense is average.

I said the Defensive line didn't look good, but the D didn't really look amazing. GT drove the ball on them fairly consistently, and they would have put up multiple scores if not for some bonehead plays.
I'm not saying Clemson is bad. I'm saying they're not (yet at least) what people are assuming on D. They don't have close to last year's talent - especially up front.

I’m hoping getting them early in the season again will help. But I’m pretty sure they out match us in most places, we will need to get a lot of breaks to pull off an upset
