By what measure is aTm a "Top 5 Program" other than cash?

Delusions of grandeur.

I don’t know what the point of this thread is. No one is going to disagree that he made a huge upgrade going to A&M.

But at the end of the day we were going to fire him as soon as we possibly could (keep in mind we currently have no chancellor). It was a shite hire on your end, you know it, and you are hoping (and failing) to rile us up to soothe your bitterness.

The only inaccurate thing he said, or more so failed to say, was adding “potential” before “top 5 program”, because your on the field results are laughably no where close to that caliber. But maybe if you keep throwing money at it you will prevail, you certainly have the leadership to succeed now.

You’re trying real hard to justify the hire.

How you know it’s shitty.

Hey, but at least they paid a lot for it... seems to be the only thing that matters.

Personally, I think OM got the better end of this deal. Was not an amazing AD imo

I have seen schools have a coach or administrator hired out from under them and they were furious about it. Hell, I'm a fan of a school that had that happen us. I know what the symptoms of a furious fan base are.

Ole Miss fans aren't reacting like they are furious. A bit incredulous yes. Furious no. That should be a cause for concern for A&M. After all I have not very fond memories of Wisconsin fans being fairly pleased when we signed Bert and we all know how that turned out for Arkansas.

What if I told you that an AD paid a good deal of money a top of the line firm to help with a football coach search only to hire the guy currently serving as interim?

Sound crazy?

Thats your AD A&M. Happy for you.

Question to OP- does the fact that Woodward left for greener pastures mean that LSU is better than aggy?

Excited to hear your rationale!!

We are very happy he decided to move on. I was hoping we would have fired him a while back. Def was in the NCAA’s corner though.

The question was never "Why would Bjork leave UM for A&M?" The question is, "Why would A&M want Bjork as their AD?"

The only logical answer is that Bjork is willing to go along with whatever hair-brained scheme the power brokers come up with, and even lie to the press, recruits and the NCAA to try to cover it up.

I haven't seen his salary posted anywhere. The CEO of a $200M /year corporation can justify getting paid paid close to $2 mil, but he was probably available for much less than that.

What does the AD at A&M even have to do? Build facilities? Done. Hire coaches? Done. Raise money? Always good to do, but pretty easy at A&M. Work on NCAA compliance? Well, Bjork has a rare skill at that....
