"we've only had 3 coaches the past 50 years"

That would be impressive if any of them were worth a damn. You kept this past middling gent for years after showing he can't cut the mustard

Your AD knows it. The fans just haven't caught on yet. Muh money!!

You're the joke. ATM is destined to be irrelevant in baseball

What’s with the belligerence?

Baseball is huge at A&M—second only to football. I’m certainly not saying we’re the nation’s best program, but to act like we’re some kind of Johnny come lately in the sport is simply showing your unfamiliarity.

Though I’m now convinced you’re trolling.

And yes, money will always be an issue—in any job hire.
That’s not even debatable.

He may be trolling a bit but how far off is he?

aTm is searching for a baseball coach to lead a program that is 5th in the pecking order in its own division. Even in a good season, 4th or 5th place SEC West finishes are likely. How long of a leash will that garner a new coach if it happens more times than not?

At aTm a coach is directly competing against LSU, Arkansas, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss.

You can’t in one breath list longevity as a positive attribute, then discount it when it applies to us.

Again, not sure what your agenda is here, but I’ll just agree to disagree.

I'm not discounting it. You've had money this whole time and have kept the current underperformer for a long time.

You aren't some kind of sleeping giant who has been sleeping through your last three coaches. You are the performance of those coaches, which is largely not relevant in the sport nationally

Might want to check NCAA tournament appearances before talking too much mess about the overall program difference between Arkansas and A&M.

Arkansas made a great hire with Van Horn and he got to within one play of winning it all once and has a great shot this year.

Your best finish in Omaha is 5th. We've been twice as many times as you and finished second twice.

Lately we are a fixture in Omaha. I can't even picture a Texas A&M baseball jersey in my head and I am a college baseball fan

Programs are not close

Ahhh... so this is about comparing Texas A&M and Arkansas?
Absolutely, the Hogs are the better program.

Childress's 622 career victories rank third all-time in Texas A&M history behind Mark Johnson (876) and Tom Chandler (660).

Just 3 more seasons and he might have been 2nd on the list.

If we get turned down, I promise the coaches that turn us down will get a raise and/or extension.

Meh, fans always feel like their job openings are much more desirable than they actually are.

"Sleeping giant"

A&M's favorite phrase, regarding every sport they play. Tell me, why are you always asleep? Maybe you just are who you are. Maybe you're an awake average program.

Texas did not just all of a sudden start churning out a bunch of elite athletes.

A&M did not just stumble into some money recently.
