We want to be in a pod with tu and Arkansas. No OU though. We’d prefer Lsu or the MS schools.

Can we please not call them pods? NFL has 4 team divisions...Why can't we?

That’s why he back tracked on them and is getting blasted nationally. Bc they were boss statements.

Boss statements he thought were in a private setting.

Even though there were cameras every where and it wasn’t a Bama private boosters meeting.

The more one reflects on this. It’s just like Jimbo said. Saban’s God complex is the reason he was clueless on how this was going to reflect poorly on him.

I doubt we hear anymore statements like this from Saban for a while or he is losing it.

Are there any schools that want to be in a pod with OU besides Texas?

Maybe Arkansas but I think they want other schools.

I think it’s funny y’all think 67% of the members would vote a team out of the conference, much less a school that has..
12.7B endowment, largest in current SEC, ( Bamas is 900m )
The 8th largest media market in the us in Houston, 2nd in SEC
Largest Alumni base in the current SEC, 12th in the US.
1 of the only 4 SEC schools that are AAU.

Why does that matter because UF, VU, and Mizz will not do anything to jeopardize that AAU relationship that deals in 10’s of Billions in research. So that’s 4- 8 which 2/3; but there are other Universities, like UGA and UT that are trying to get AAU membership.

Not to mention it would take a lot more than calling Saban out for something he started!

Plus on top of all that ESPN who basically owns the SEC right now, will not let it happen.

You boys need to stop thinking like we’re the SEC and you need to know your place and realize those days are over.. we are a long ways from the game of the week in JP sports!

Please hold your breath while waiting for Texas A&M to get “kicked out of” any conference. Ever.

NIL enforcement may eventually fall to the conferences. It's nearly a guaranteed bet that all the rest of the conference member institutions will opt for regulation. If A&M doesn't agree and insists on going rougue, a 3/4 conference vote would be very easy. A&M was never a good fit in the SEC in any event.

AAU is national, not conference, has nothing to do with sports, but research universities are as competitive as the sports programs.

Wow

Your whole darn fanbase is scared of competition. Bama fans you have to stop. I used to respect Bama with the Stallings and Bear ties.

And I get backing your coach even when he’s in the wrong bc he’s won for you.

But saying we are going to kick a school out makes you look weak and respect for your school will go away if you continue down paths like this.

Wrong. You can’t make rules that are illegal. Even if the conference agrees. And if it’s legal to pay kids through collectives YOU must allow it. If you kick out a team because they won’t break laws, you’ll be sued. And you’ll lose. Badly.

What will actually happen is that 8&4feit will agree with all the other conference institutions to abide by conference NIL regulations. Then, when they are busted for not doing so, they'll have to live with the consequences, like Alabama did after getting busted in the 1990s.

You people continue to show your ignorance.

Courts ruled that an individul can market his name and image. Courts did not rule against the ncaa rules that boosters can not provide incentives for players to sign with their team.

It's a clear distinction and isn't complex for anybody that isn't a moron.

I think he knew exactly what he was doing. The next day the SEC commisioner said this...

SEC commissioner on NIL deals: ‘We’re seeing just straight payments’

A&M is an asset to the conference....a creepy asset but an asset none the less. They are not a normal school by any stretch. They might be the weirdest program in all of college sports...but....that makes them creepy unique and no matter what conference they are in, that will always be true....so just keep the creepy school and reap the benefits of the fan base and the money they contribute.

It’s implied in the SCOTUS opinion. Read it. Justices imply that athletes can work wherever they choose. Period. End of sentence.

And collectives are not “boosters” they are corporations funded by boosters. And you wil have a nightmare of a time getting corporate law to change for Saban and Bama.

It’s not going to happen. It’s over. Your poor broke arse state is done.
