The dropoff from Manziel to Hill/Allen won't be nearly as big as the dropoff between Mettenraper and Jennings/Harris

Probably not. Manziel left much bigger shoes to fill.

Plus it doesn't matter. LSU's offense is much more balances.

This si a crazy statement for a few reason

1. Manziel was an elite Quarterback. No matter what the talking head NFL drat pundits say he was Elite in college (which is where we play these games) to think anyone can just step in and there won't be a drop off is crazy.

2. You oline got away with a lot because JFF could run for his life and extend plays

3. Mike Evans is a beast, RSJ is not Mike Evans. Wont be Mike Evans. Your WR may be better in a couple of years, but they will suffer from lesser QB play.

4. You think Myles Garrett is going to be a bigger playmaker his freshmen year than JFF, and Mike Evans and your #1 RB?

1. Manziel is and was an elite QB. Doesn't mean he was perfect (see LSU twice) and it certainly doesnt mean that another QB could not perform well at A&M.

2. Im not even sure what this means to be honest, but if youre trying to say that our oline is overrated despite having 4 future NFL players returning, i guess we will just have to agree to disagree.

3. In addition to Evans our two departing starters are a walkon who played womens basketball and a 3 star juco. Again, its possible that even though the dropoff at evans position will be there, the aggregate WR corps could be better.

4. #1 RB - Malena was not that good, and yes the impact Garrett has on the defense will be bigger than JFF on the offense.

Our rise in the defense rankings will be greater than our dropoff in offensive next year.

Assuming Johnny Manziel, Jake Matthews or Mike Evans are selected in the top 10, it will be the fourth straight year Texas A&M has a top-10 pick. This would be just the fifth such streak in the common draft era: Alabama 2009-13, Miami (FL) 2002-05, Ohio State 1994-97 and USC 1993-97.

Congrats on the moral victory

Sure, but if manziel isn't in that game, we have like 8 sacks both games. He extended a lot of plays. RR just locked down Mike Evans

The games i watched LSu won because the didn't over pursue the QB, not because your Oline was incredible that we couldn't get to him. Johnny could but him self 2x the time a less mobile QB would

Yeah i think your Oline is a little overrated. Lord knowns the Jaguars have never drafted a overrated player.

I think it just means that the defense has a LOT of room for improvement. A top edge rusher can really help the defense get off the field on 3rd downs, much like Damontre Moore did in 2012.

That isn't saying much on the defensive end, but that's not my point. You said Garrett, will have a greater impact than Manziel. Manziel almost singlehandedly won the Ole Miss, State, and Duke games. Garrett will not had 3 wins by himself. I believe that the defense might be better as a whole, but to say that Garrett as a true freshman will have a greater impact than a probable top 10 college football player of all time is just asinine.

Melena was your #1 rusher after JFF. So what does that say about your other RBs?

There is No DE that will have the impact a QB has. There is No DE that has the game changing ability that JFF had.

I know it's hard for y'all to grasp a simple concept but let's try again. We were a top 10 offense before Manziel, we are gonna be a top 10 offense after Manziel. Out offense will regress but our defense will improve more than the offense regresses.

The greater impact to A&M is the addition of Garrett as our offense is going to be elite no matter who we end up with at QB.

That they didn't get as many carries or they would have more yards.

Here, I'll spell it out so that even a corndog can understand it:

Ben Malena had 115 carries for 551 yards (4.79 ypc)

Trey Williams had 58 carries for 407 yards (7 yards per carry)

Tra Carson had 62 carries for 329 yards (5.3 yards per carry)

Assuming you split Malena's carries evenly amongst Williams and Carson, the numbers look like this:

Williams - 115 carries for 805 yards
Carson - 120 carries for 636 yards

If you go a little further and split Manziel's carries 40/40/20 amongst the three returning backs:

T. Williams - 173 carries for 1,211 yards
Carson - 178 carries for 944 yards
B. Williams - 72 carries for 432 yards

A&M was a top 10 offense before Manziel because of the rushing numbers in 2011.

A few points

1. Before Manziel y'all had bothe a different Coach and a different 1st Rounder at QB. That doesn't mean your next QB was a first rounder. It just means you had two in a row.

2. Your back up RBs would get more snaps, if they were better than the guy getting snaps. So they aren't as good as the guy leaving. At least not in the eyes of Sumlin.
