In the South we don't consider those types to be "good people".

They didn't exactly seem happy after the first win either. Between them and LSU fans a few years ago, it's a pretty strange phenomenon. Solid wins, yet miserable afterward.

This is what winning in the SEC requires my friend. Fans have some sway over the performance of their team's performance. Expectations drive success, not being happy to get a win but critical of how that win was achieved.

Folks LOVE to make fun of Alabama fans killing trees and sisters in law over a football game. While it is undeniably a serious illness it is also a big part of Alabama's success in its history. There is nothing special about the water or the air in Tuscaloosa. It is the unreasonable expectation of perfection and dominance no matter what.

UGA, Ole Miss, LSU and Florida are perfect examples of just the opposite. High School football in those states is far superior to Alabama and has been for a long time. They all produce more NFL talent per capita and overall than Alabama. What their respective state college teams lack is a demand of excellence and perfection, no matter how unreasonable it is, from that schools football program by their fans. Alabama fans are just different, anyone denying this is just wrong. That difference, and again it is completely unreasonable, is a huge part of Alabama's success which spans decades. They are not satisfied EVER. There was serious discussion of firing Nick Saban for fricks sake, amongst fans.

For anyone that want to the SECCG, how were their fans in person?

Great, like every other fan base. There are assholes among them for sure but that is true of all fan bases. They are Texans for the most part so there is a lot of hat and very little cattle but that is also true of most fan bases....it is a little more prevalent amongst Texans because of the psyche of Texans in general but it is mostly fun and not accompanied by evil intent.

That comes with a caveat - there isn't a hundred years of history between UGA and Texas. I am certain ATM and Oklahoma fans may have a completely different story.

Texans are good folks if you are accustomed to being around Texans....much the same as New Yorkers. Initially they are loud, overbearing and obnoxious but most of the time you come to realize its all a show and its done for fun....when you get past the initial unpleasantness you realize they are simply good folks who like to pretend that there is something special about being a Texan and, when you account for this character flaw, you find they are actually good folks.

Texas are good people, it was a much better add for the SEC than USC was for the B1G.

Or Washington, UCLA or Oregon. Texas ain't the south by any definition....west of a line from Dallas to Houston Texas is the southwest, a mountain state or the midwest, certainly not the south....and there is a helluva lot of Texas west of DFW and Houston. That said they are far more culturally aligned with the south than the PAC10 teams are with the midwest. That is a mixed marriage of epic proportions, Texas and Oklahoma and the SEC is more like a Methodist marrying a Baptist.....

Yes it is clear our OL calls Georgia’s DL daddy. Which makes losing such a winnable game tough to stomach. We have to get Arch’s legs involved if we play them again.

I certainly hope Sark doesn't get this message LOL. I expected it this time around...had UGA not managed to hold Texas to 6 points in the first half and were winning 17-7 or something I think we would have seen a steady feed of Arch running. If we meet again I fully expect it. In all honesty I hope we don't LOL....

This nails it.

“We played for a championship last year! And only IF the game was 5 quarters we definitely would have finally figured out a way to stop Washington and then we would have played for a championship again and won it all!!!”

Oh, it truly sucks to be so close to playing for a championship and coming up short.

Absolutely crushing..

Luckily for you as an aggy, you will never have to experience getting close.

In the 2 games combined...

26 tackles for loss and 13 sacks. I'd call that Defensive domination if nothing else.

His comments are an observation, not a melt.

OU is a good fit for the SEC culturally. UTx is not a good fit for the SEC culturally.

Farther....farther relates to distance, further is a definition of degree. You should have said farther.

The SEC schedule has been a gauntlet long before you pricks decided to follow us here. All you little hoes had to do was beat Georgia, the only ranked team on your schedule, and couldn't even do that.

You entitled little b***** thinking that the SEC goes through tu is laughable. Ya'll claimed to have won it last year, then when it's time to actually do it you leave with pie on your faces.

"dominated" he says, as he wins in OT with a starting QB who was in traction the picosecond after the cameras turned off.

The fact of the matter is this:

When the Bulldogs lose in the playoffs you can hang the banner that says you beat Texas twice in one regular season. Especially if Texas goes further than you and ends up ranked higher than you at season end.

If the Bulldogs and Longhorns meet againf or all the marbles and Texas beats you for the national championship, the previous two games won't matter to anyone except bitter, sour old Georgia fans like you.

I'm sure your narrative will be "This is so unfair! You shouldn't have to beat a team 3 times! Should be best 2 out of 3 like in baseball" when that happens.

The true reality that Georgia has yet to come to grips with is this: you think the SEC schedule is a gauntlet, but the reality is playing the Texas Longhorns is the gauntlet.

This is exactly what the OP is talking about. You are just to stupid to recognize it. Only took 5 minutes for a UTrans fan to confirm exactly what he was saying.
