Yes, at least in the minds of young people (aka everyone who fills colleges and actually plays football).

Well, like I said I was young, so I won't argue that point. But my recollection of those days was that every person I knew, young and old, would have happily beat the shite out of the anti-war spit-on-the-troops types, and damn near everybody from 6 to 60 was an aggy fan.

All that Texas money and it would be simple to buy all of those games out. WTI is back over seventy now.

It's not that A&M can't pay for it. It's why the frick should we back out of deals with other P5s for the benefit of Texas?

Texas isn't going to pay for A&M to back out of deals yet they were the ones that told us if we left the Big 12 the game was going to end. If DeLoss Dodds hadn't thrown a massive hissy fit and acted as if A&M was no different than Iowa State the game would still be going on. Why should A&M pay for shite the Texas admin started? If they want to play us so bad they should stop scheduling P5 games ten years down the line like they did with Bama. The simple fact that they are still setting up deals with other P5 schools indicates they don't really want to play us.

Also, I'm an Aggie that NEVER wanted the game to end. I still want it back. But we shouldn't nuke our future schedules just b/c their dumbass coach has come to the realization that A&M is one of the only two schools Texas fans have ever consistently given a shite about playing.

Hell, I'd love if we played them, two other old SWC schools, AND another P5 school every year for OOC. Unfortunately that just isn't how shite works.

We lead you boys in the all time record. Not often we can say that.

You mean the years when you won all your national championships and had a Heisman winner?

IMHO, there are 4 "eras" of CFB"

- Pre-WWII: Small private schools like Harvard, Notre Dame, etc. could and did dominate

- WWII-1973: Big state schools could throw schollys at any talent they wanted, and small schools couldn't or wouldn't.

- 1974 to late 90's: Leveler playing fields on scholarships and the nascent rise of TV money gave smaller programs a chance again.

- 21st century: Major conferences, TV contracts, and simply larger schools (and alumni bases) return concentrated power to state schools.

In the second era, we were about 39% winning percentage. We simply could not compete as a small military school.

From 1974, we've been at 65% (including a 19-19 record against Texas)

The way state fans talk shite these days you would think they dominate the series with LSU. I can't imagine what it would be like if state ever won anything of significance...that's not happening though.

They do.
A&M on the other hand has been a horrible bowl team. Remember that time we had to come back against Duke? DUKE!
