That would make zero sense. It would be better for the Big 12 to take all the AAC schools. That way the Big 12 still exists and gets the Texas and Oklahoma exit fees. The other way, no exit fees to a conference that doesn't exist.

right, plus, The Big 12 has a better reputation of being a legitimate football conference. I didn't even know what schools the AAC were till I looked it up.

this is an incredibly ironic statement coming from a Georgia fan considering that UGA and OU were the schools that started knocking down the dominoes that led here.

That is very true, and you're welcome btw

UGA and OU fought for the ability to play more than 1 game a year on TV. 40 years ago Cable didn't exist, much less ESPN. It's crazy to me that there is so much $$ involved we've reached the point where we are basically dissolving traditional/ 100 year old conferences.

I'd say contact us after 2025 after Texas and Oklahoma pay us their $80 mil exit fees.

Yeah, the AAC would have better depth. I thought the Big 12 would go poach the 4 best AAC programs, but this seems to be driven by ESPN who has full AAC rights while the Big 12 is FOX/ESPN split.

If I was a AAC team I would only consider it if Bowlsby was fired as the big 12 commissioner. That guy has proven to be a complete idiot. He has made several big mistakes including having no idea his two big money cows were thinking of leaving.

The Big 12 has better recognition but Bowlsby as the leader has been terrible.

B12 gonna stick around.

Add Houston, Rice, and SMU right off the bat. Those three would love to play the old SWC games without burnt orange problem child around. Big step up in conferences. Now you're at eleven.

AAC is awful. No one cares about most of the games.

BYU. Independence not working out.

Boise State. Step up.

Cincy and Louisville.

USF and UCF. Step up.

B12 can get to 16 fairly easily.

The b12 eight aren't going to the AAC

You are right, B12 teams would be idiotic to leave for the AAC. Cherry pick the teams you want to bring in to the B12.

But some of your other points make zero sense. Rice and SMU? What are you smoking? And the only way Louisville leaves the ACC is if it totally collapses.

Remaining B12 would be smart to add some combination of:

BYU (most important if they want to actually make some money)
Boise St
Colorado St
Cincinnati
Memphis
Houston
UCF
USF

This whole thing is being run by ESPN. It's in ESPN's best interest to have the Big 12 collapse, and have UT/OU in the SEC ASAP.

Totally agree...The BIG 12 schools should go after BYU and then raid the AAC of it's better schools, not the other way around. Then just wait for the PAC to dissolve and take leftovers they want from that conference..That has to be a better option, right?

They need to position themselves as the most powerful of the non Power conferences to get a decent TV contract and even possibly get a playoff spot if the College football playoff expands to 12 teams.

They have been called Purple Baylor for years. btw if you think any "religious" school has anything to do with religion, I have a slightly used tent for sale on 6th Street in Austin.

Baylor & Purple Baylor, peas in a pod. One has a chubby coach that sweats a lot and the other has a coach that wishes he was back at LSU.
